um unless im nutz they played the 11 tonite.

WTF is up with these azzholes in the mezane, that get mad if u stand and dance?

ive only be going for 17 yrs, but i thought these shows were about sing and dancing with the band.

if u r so fat, u can barely fit in a seat, and have no desire to stand and dance, i have a suggestion.

go back to the couch, eat some chips, and die. if that musice doesnt wanna make u wanna dance, your r dead already.

the floor had a much better vibe than mezane

geesh

thx to the band, best weekend ive had in a long long time

joan, im married, very in love, but wow, u kick ass!

A nice deliberate 1st set. 2nd set rose to the pound of a very strong terrapin. still warm from that one!!

Yes, at least 2 songs missing - not sure what it was ( let it ride ?) but 1st set definayely had 7 tunes. and they did play the 11. a fairly unspectacular start; but a no holds barred; blow your doors off ending

Odd Encore..

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By mark merolli (Cherise) on Sunday, June 25, 2006 - 09:01 am: Edit Post

jam into the 11, if memory serves

<<<there's>>>>

yes odd encore. thught it was shorter than boca or tampa, thought they wud do at least a double encoure.

but it was all cream cheese, as thur and friday just blew me out.

i still cant get over the roided out freak behind, screaming to sit the phuck down over and over.

hey i wasnt drunk, maybe a little toasty. so when did it become a rule, that u r supposed to sit and act like u r dead, at a bloody ripping show?

so i had security talk to him first. then i turned around and asked him if he had a problem with me enjoying the show. he didnt say a thing but his girl was like, its ok.

so i shook my ass into their faces for one last song. and then bolted, their negative energy, was a total buzz kill.

but i digress, had a great great time this weekend

Cherise,
I was in the balcony and had no problem dancing up there.I was the one with the Indian head tye dye in second row center. Sorry you had someone behind you who just did not understand.

As far as the show I thought the first set was a bit slow (compared to Tampa) and that the second set was also slow in the beginning but Man oh Man did they blow it away once they went into Terripin and Know you rider.
Great mellow ride to begin the evening and then full speed ahead to end it.

If there is a show near you do not miss it!

Regardimg the "odd encore" comment:
>>Farewell to you old southern skies,
I'm on my way, on my way<<

Kind of makes sense at the close of three nights in Florida...

Hollis, did Joan sing "Let It Ride"?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By UHollis (U_hollis) on Sunday, June 25, 2006 - 01:00 pm: Edit Post

No PHIL/ROB/JOAN sang it, with Phil takin all the up front parts, more of the lead, and they did it straght thru with no end jam tagged to it. Like the record cut. it was sweet and mellow. well placed b/w a rippin Big R. and a NASTY Rag. the mix was a little wierd during Rag where I was, but oh well, i had a Sco speaker right near me.

Had a blast last night. Still reeling fromt that Terrapin>Rider. I also thought the New Speeedway was KILLER, and box of Rain mid first set brought tears to my eyes. I just hope I get to see Phil again soon. We do not get much love here in Florida. All I can say is that I had as much fun the past 2 nights as I have had in years. Thanks to all the good folks that make the music so great. Nothing better that having real fans around you to share that joy with. And yes the Godlen Road>11>Millenium also made my legs shake. One more thing. Joan was so great these shows. My wife has only seen her once in Tampa for The Dead in 03, and the show sucked, and so she did not like the whole Joan idea. WOW that lady was spot on hitting every note, and the Peggy-O she sang in Tampa was specatcular. Enough rambling.

i think they fumbled it a bit at he beginning,
dont think it was mic probs, just classic fumble.

This was a totally rippin' show. I went to Boca and while parts of it were amazing, I thought the jams were forced-sounding at times, and Sco seemed lost almost every time he was supposed to solo.

Total turnaround on Sco's part for Orlando. (I didn't make Tampa). Every solo was tremendous, and all the jamming was very focused. Golden Road thru Rider totally smoked, in particular.

Some notes: Let It Ride was all Phil on lead vocals. I was in the balcony, danced the entire time... loved it up there. I just moved to the aisle to dance so as to allow folks behind me to sit in peace.

Hard Rock Live apparently didn't sell reserved balcony seats until a week or so ago. I upgraded my GA ticket for $5... well spent! Luckily I knew about this only because I called to box office the night before. I still had full access downstairs, but balcony was half-full and no lines at bar or at bathroom. Killer sound there, too.

I had a great time at Boca, and after travelin from South FL to TN and back the week b/f, I was straight toast.

Could not make it to Tampa. My body was a wreck.

So after some rest a few of us roll from Palm Beach around 2.30.

Decent drive, thanks Schnee, and a bit of rain to clean the bugs off.

Found the parking deck, having forgotten this was on restricted grounds and no shakedown, we just bellied up around the car and drank everything we had in the cooler, while security drove by in IPOD land.

Almost lost a finger cuttin open a coconut, but s thats life in south FL. a quick field dressing ans things were back in line.

Meet a few people strollin by, and soon found ourselves at the venue.

So Hard Rock, yes lets you do whatever inside, and we already now they are water naziz, so i'm dun digressing.

missed the LTGTR, which I always like to here

came in on the exchange to Loose Lucy, which vocally sounded wierd, the ROB mix.

lots of room down front, so i slid furthur and furthur up.

I actually enjoyed the Dire Wolf, though dont remember anything of it now.

Box was sweet, and again, i think Phil sounded wonderful this past week.

Big River ripped!!!

Let it Ride was direct more in line with the album version, no lead out jam to connect it to DTR. Phil sang the lead vocals.

I enjoyed it, others around commented on its effectiveness, and general good feel, with a well placed "Hey man, what's the name of that tune."

now Doin that Rag had everything goin for it except the vocal mix, it was Dreadful. I thought it may have been my position, but Stph agrees. If i recall, the music got really loud during it, and things were thumping heavily, but vocals blew dick.

Set 2 i thought flowed perfectly.

During Wheel's on Fire, I got into my recently purchased beverage without too much movement around. Sooooo mellow

New Speedway thru YGTHYLA felt wonderful to my mind, I felt the band handle all these tunes with grace.

New Speedway, NTYSM, and Golden Road, that trio banged, and people around me were whoopin and hollerin loud enough to make me think they may be closet MOFRO fans. Onward...

It seemed to me that Wheels and You've Got were played in an intro/outro sorta way, even though Youve Got did seque in Terrapin.

Terrapin> Rider. Fine by me, and with such an enthusiastic crowd, any flaws that could be found were quickly washed away by the friendly yell of a nearby fan, or by me.

Half Step was a last minute change, and Phil, in huddle, kept lookin at the crowd insisting on yelling and screamin down front.

Nice smiles Phil!

Larry had major fiddle monitor problems and finished the song on his Steel.

Overall, I had fun, but it takes some pretty bad shit to put a damper on my life.

The mix, while great during most of the jams, gets muddy, and then sometimes hot, during many of the vocals/harmonies, espec. when Rob takes any up front position. I noticed this in Boca also, and last night listenin to the AUD of Tampa, Whistle Stop sounded like SHIT on that one. The vocal responsibilities are spread well throughout the band, and the guitars are ripping. I've only seen this and the Jimmy/Warren combo(RR02), and I'll take this lineup again if i had the choice. I also would like to see Barry play. It just thrilled me to no end that Phil brought his band to FL, and I hope we get it again soon. How about December Phil, its nice as hell down here then.

After show activities involved the wrong hotel, another coconut, some rum, a cooler and a guitar without a D String. It ripped!

And nice to meet everyone I did meet.

Thanks again to Schnee and Ally for makin the trip. Good work ladies.

I know this bringing up old news but curious about something.... I distinctly remember a jamb that almost seemed middle-eastern with a "Joan-moan" vocals in it. Which song was it or did I imagin this? Help my memory please...
