Happy Birthday Joan and I hope Trey plays the entire second set. Darien is the only show that i can make of this tour and it will be a blast. i don't care what they play because i like all the songs, but Trey will help bring the funk. thanks. Peace, Love, and Phil.

Good attitude Gary, I wish that everyone was a positive as you and I believe we've met through mutual friends before, since i'm from jamestown too. people need to relax and just enjoy the show and if you're going to complain, stay home. Yes, I do want to hear Trey play at least one set, because he has a great stage presence, more than sless, and i have many great memories with both Trey and Phil. I just can't wait to hear them together. They can play whatever they want and it would be a good time. I'm hoping for a "barn burner" 2nd set. More jam oriented is nice. i didn't start my ventures until Rich Stadium 93', but WOW it opened my eyes and i've seen plenty since. (can't control my age). i just hope everyone has a great time at the show and i want to see plenty of smiles and feel good vibes, because we need to be thankful that Phil is still alive and well and bringing these wonderful musicians together for still to this day "mind blowing" shows. God bless. Peace, Love, and Phil. Do i hear a dark star or viola lee? maybe a morning dew on joan's b-day?

tomorrow night is the 11th aniversery of the dead's last show. Also, the last show for Trey on the tour. Chances are we will have Trey all second set in Bethel. From what I understand, there was no Trey tonight with Phil.

The band was hot! They rocked out from Passenger and didn't let up. There were no guests in either set, and the encore was Casey Jones, not Brokedown.

An excellent, excellent show!

How was the band's energy level, relative to the fact that they had to travel clear across NY state between Jones Beach & Darien?

It was a good show, mellow, but good. I'm happy to have Phil come to Western New York ANYTIME.

I would be tired going from Mass>LI>Darien>Woodstock in four days and I'm a young buck. Those four night four city stretches have to be tough.

My highlight was Unbroken>The Eleven. I had a feeling there would no Trey with Phil at this show and I was right. THANKS PHIL!!!

what the hell. No trey in the one show I get to see, im pissed, also treys set was terrible, Phil was OK, nothing to great at all, just a straight forward show, nothing that sticks out at all

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By trevor ellis (Cliftonhanger420) on Sunday, July 09, 2006 - 01:46 pm: Edit Post

I thought last night was a really good show. it wasn't great, but it was good. Phil was really dropping bombs during that eyes. I thougnt GRAB was pretty good. best thing i've heard from trey, witout Phish, since TAB 99 in Ashville. More experimental than recent, but he's gotta let the "poppy" stuff go. Goodbye Head sounds like it could be a good tune. They need to keep practicing if this is what they are going to do, but trey does need to let the others go more and tune it down a bit. trey and mike show that they can still cover almost any band they want and play it good. the uncle albert, get back, and who are you all rocked. i could care less for the mr. completely garbage. how about a split open and melt or divided sky guys. As for Phil, he rocked. I was disappointed that trey didn't play one tune. sless did an excellent job all night, but i was not impressed by larry campbell. he seems like he would belong better in a straight rock band, not a jazz band like P&F. he doesn't seem to take risks, or know enough chords to take risks. Joan sounded great, rob barraco still fits in very well, and phil was in top form. Unbroken Chain was sung perfect, but the jam didn't really go anywhere. The Gimmie Shelter was good. This was a show if you like straight forward songs, without a lot of exploration. The new speedway was good too. The staff was really tight in the venue. i had a great time and i'm very lucky that phil still rocks and puts on these excellent shows. thank you phil and god bless. keep on growing.

Ok, so we didn't get the Dew I was hopeing for and I really thought Phil was setting us up for a killer Other One out of the eleven but all that aside I was really happy with this show. The first set got off to a good start with a lot of great slide work by Barry on Passenger. The Dire Wolf was alright but nothing special. Barting Lines brought the energy down to begin with but then got really dark and nasty during the jam and I loved it. The Bird Song was really fun with Phil doing a better than expected job on vocals and a nice jam to boot. The intro jam on New Speedway was great as was the whole song. All in all avery nice first set. After a very short set break of about 15 minutes the band came out with a very hot Gimme Shelter, I don't think they had time to cool off. The Eyes was simply tremendous Phil went totally off. Magnolia Mountain was played well with a nice jam. The Wheel was decent if not overly strong. Unbroken Chain was totally sick! Long strong beautiful rockin! The Eleven was ausome! The Trucken was played well and the jams were good. The Casey Jones was alright. I guess if I were to fault this show I think it deserved a better ending than Truckin, Casey Jones.

Morning Dew Would of melted me, I love love love that song, although I did hear it at the Terrapin thingy, it was to slow that time. Gimmie Shelter was pretty good could of been a little more speady, Reminded me of when Jenny from Forrest Gump was going to jump off the belcony when she was all coked up.

Overall I think the show was weak to medeocer ( horrible Spell), There wasnt really one song I can say I realy wanted to hear, The Eyes was good reminded me of The Eyes off of , Datyum whats that CD with the Jazzy eyes, dammit, oh wel

well;
This is the first time I have seen Phil and friends since the breakup of the Q....I am really tremendously glad that phil still kicks it at his age...he flat out rocks and really I love him...The band that is now P & F is tight, but in my honest opinion and I am sure many others too, they are nowhere near the granduer of the Q..and it does give me pause to thank god for the days that were, grattitude for the boys known as the Q, those guys were magic!! it made missing and losing Jerry just a little bit easier in a time when I needed the consoling! Warren and Jimmy were the bomb together, and I will always have those special memories of seeing them perform and ya know we are a spoiled bunch first I get the GD in My life and then Brent dies (major bummer for me that I never got over) and then Jerry flies away into space...but then phil rises up and carries the GD flag wide and high with the Q, and it was magic, I was lucky and I love all the times....the show in Darien was good, good to be home...that is what the Family is all about!! thanks for the party and the good times phil may god bless you and keep you in good health so that we we may see each other again.....Billy Murphy

they guy who said the Unbroken Chain didn't go anywhere is crazy, word to the other guy who said it was sick, because it was, i thought it was one of the hottest Chains I've seen, better than last night in Columbus too... the Eyes was also awesome... but count me as disappointed that Trey couldn't sit in for at least the encore... still, a kind Phil show is a kind Phil show...
