WOW!!! What a show!!!
Eric & Derek togehter was a dream come true. They sounded like they've been doing it for years. Too bad this was the last night of the current tour with Derek, I hope some of you had a chance to see 2 generations of guitar Gods playing together as one. I haven't seen Clapton since June 2004 (Crossroads concert) and was very impressed with his playing and setlist selections this time around. I wasn't around back in the day when the alleys of London were painted with graffiti proclaiming that "Clapton Is God" but after the show I saw on Sunday night I could understand why so many thought that. I really don't like HP Pavillion or shows in venues that big anymore but thanks to a special Zoner which remain nameless I was able to score a last minute pair of tickets down on the floor with a perfect view of the stage. We had seats in the "players box" off to the side but decided to go to the last row on the floor so we could dance instead. Clapton's crowd has aged and seemed quite happy with just sitting for most of the show until the "get off your ass and dance" rifts of Layla & Cocaine were heard ring throught he building. It took a little while to settle in and find my "just exactly perfect" spot but once I did I was in heaven. Dead center in the back on the floor and the sound was the best I've ever heard for that place. Highlights for me were songs I've seldom heard live with Eric in the few times I've seen him; Tell The Truth, Got To Get Better In A Little While, Little Wing, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad, Nobody Knows You When Your Down & Out and Running On Faith. Top notch versions of all of them. There really wasn't a bad song in the set. Thank God no "Tears On Heaven" for a buzz kill. Overall it was an incredible night of music and VERY glad I went. Don't give up on Clapton and the stuff he's been putting out recently. Don't be fooled, he's still got it, He's still GOD!!

Sounds like you made the most of a crappy venue with a buzzkill crowd!
I've caught a couple MUST-SEE shows at the HP but It takes a really special show these days...
I'm seeing them in omaha on the 31st. No Derek :.(...
So jealous...I don't why I never pulled it together to get down to these shows. Maybe Sac tonight but alas no Derek
So I'm out again.
This show was great!! The box seats were much appreciated indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Especially compared to last time I saw him in 2001, not too hot.
Oh Yeah, don't forget Clapton now sings "Dirty" Cocaine, emphasizing the dirt factor.
Derek was such a great compliment to Clapton. I'm so fortunate to see one of my old time favorite guitar heroes meet with one on my recent fav's.
