I see that while they purged Dickey long ago they still can't cut loose his tunes..what's the matter guys..you can't write your own tunes? No where Left to Run, Liz Reed & Revival and at the Bear Stears show..Jessica...
Showstoppers all!
Why would the Allman Brothers want to stop performing Dickey Betts songs? Dickey's wrote dozens of fabulous tunes. They are some of my favorites, and I am thrilled that the band still plays them with enthusiasm. I'll take a Jessica or Elizabeth Reid any time, any place!
FYI: They do write there own songs too, and some damn good ones recently. Listen to the last studio album from 2003 "Hittin the Note" and you will hear several great originals.
The Seattle Times had a review of Clapton's Thursday night Key Arena show in this morning's paper. They claimed that Derek was tearing it up on stage with EC. I'm guessing they blew it and meant Doyle Bramhall II, but who knows, maybe this Derek guy is some omnipresent shapeshifter!

Check it out now, looks like he's fixed his mistake, although he just took out Derek's name, he didn't replace it with Doyle's name...
