FN awesome show! I felt Jerry tonight flying high over Lone Mountain
Second that emotion
The Harder they come
Everybody must get stoned
(fragmented + not in order - foggy at best)
Tore up over you
The way you do the things you do
The nite they drove old dixie down
Tangled up in Blue
Brothers + Sisters
encore Midnite Moonlite
I may have left some out
(((Keepers of the Flame)))
JGB in Montana WTF..??..
Melvin needed you there Sage girl the Nor Cal vibe s..
What a band to see in small club in the middle of nowhere
Several or more of the songs on your wish list..
Get to the coast safely this week and definitly maybe see you in Petaluma on the 19th..
The first set is right except for the Rainy Day Women(Everybody Must Get Stoned). That was actually played by the opening band during their set. The second set went:
Way U Do The Things U Do
Tangled Up In Blue
E- Midnight Moonlight
It was nice seeing a band this good at a place this small. Danced my ass off about 3 feet from Melvin all night. I probably could of played a few notes for him, but he seemed like he had it under control. Like Canyon said in Hawaii- "I like both kinds of music: The Grateful Dead and Jerry Band." I couldn't agree with him more.
theres nothing like the combination of
really drunk Montucky snowboarders +
Melvin Seals and Jerette girls reperesenting +
Stu Allen putting me in a Jerry trance +
the altitude +
the wine +
the other contact highs +
the midnite Moonlight Basin moonlight
only 1 thing missing that was trancendentally brought to life on this Montana nite
I was wondering all day if it was the altitude or the stiff drinks. Probably a little of both. Good times indeed.
What was the elevation there anyway? 7000+?
Lone Mountain summit is 11,200 ft
Mountain Village (Whiskey Jacks) is 7500 ft
Jerry Garcia 10 trillion ft + climbing
Is Melvin the only one left in the band who actually played with Jerry? Why doesn't he just call it the Melvin Seals Band?
>>>Is Melvin the only one left in the band who actually played with Jerry? Why doesn't he just call it the Melvin Seals Band? >>>
Yes, Melvin is all that's left. They promote it as Melvin Seals and JGB. Jerry always said it was Melvin's band anyways.
nothing like a jgbb set list being texted to ya... glad to hear that you had a good time...
it's funny... two zoners from montana at the same show, and they didn't even know it... :-)
c-ya in a few days tons... it's gonna be an interesting time at jazz fest...
