Fun show, much much better than the last show I saw at the Warfield. The band really benefited from a nice small venue like the Great American.
Lots of dancing, the plane crash with Josh from TLG was a high light!
The beginning of the second set had some stagnant moments, seemed mostly when Al was on keys, but they were short moments, not drawn out to the point of boredom, they never really let me drift too far away. The end of the set>encore was great, we got our boogie on! and since the show started early, they played two 90 minutes sets plus a nice long encore and it was still over shortly after midnight!
I hope you're paying attention JoJo, I bought the album (because you were throwing around words like best of the year) and I even hung around and had them sign it. Hell, after all that...I might even listen to it
This was a bit of a make or break for me, I'd sort of forgotten why I liked Moe, this show as a good reminder...I'll go back for again!
Another One Gone...off the new album, at least I think this is the song I'm thinking of, really beautiful, melodic, enchanting underwater sort of moodiness, I enjoyed it. I'm interested in hearing how the live version compares to the studio album. I may have to revise my position
Was Stranger than Fiction a cover? or is this a Moe tune. Just curious.
It's a moe tune, it's gotta be an old one because it's a song I actually know, I'm not real familiar with the albums...which means I've heard it live a lot...
I love moe. and really enjoyed the show last night. IMHO they are the best jamband out there. Al and Chuck are both ripping guitarists and consistantly move the music into uncharted waters intelligently.
Thanks for the review and set list Emily. I was there and loved the show. The Plane Crash w/Josh from Tea Leaf was insane. Great interplay and solo trading between Al & Josh. A bit clogged up near the stage, but the balcony was swaying!
I thought the whole first set was stellar, likely the best set I've heard in '07 by anyone. Agreed, there were some slow moments in the second set but, since Trey is in leg irons and SCI is giving up the ghost, moe. is definitely the best current touring act of which Phil is not a member.
the front half of the floor was quite painful, with more than the usual contingent of people trying to squeeze in front of you and then walk backwards over you.
too bad it was only the one show. Japan would be fun...
Holy shit. A moe. review and it's all good. I'm so stoked.
Em bought the Conch on my say so!!!! Yippeee!!!
I guarantee you'll love it.
Where does the Time Go?...my new favorite song.
I lift up my feet everytime I cross the railroad tracks
I'm not superstitious it just reminds me of you...
Chuck is Satan.
