4/21/2007 A great show put on for free by NYC as part of the green apple earth fair/earth day festival. Good sized crowd, Good Vibes, Good Weather. They closed and entire street next to Grand Central Terminal, set up a stage at one end and eco display booths and food at the other, a small street fair, on a Saturday morning/afternoon.
Zero put on one of the most impressive musical sets i have seen in a while, very strong bass and drums, Kimock and Melvin Seals were rocking hard off one another, Kimock displayed some very good chops on guitar , he cranked ! Donna Jean was great, the sax player wailed and the rythem guit player was excellent. A very powerful set by Zero. So good that after the set, an elderly woman passerby who was not attending the fair asked us 'Who was that band??' that was some of the best music i ever heard, where are they from ? .. he he.
Another band called 'State Radio' played a set
,not familiar with them, a hard rocking power trio , very loud and solid sounding.
Assembly of Dust played a rocking set. A folk rock kinda sound from the start. As their set progressed, their jamming and music progressed, by the end they had reached a feverish pitch, the entire crowd boogieing hard , the band drenched in sweat, cooking up a storm. My first time seeing them, good vocals and decent sounding songs, excellent electric guitar work and all around good band.
>>>Kimock displayed some very good chops on guitar
i think kimock is one of the best guitar players i've ever seen.
AOD's new album was the pa music between sets at the SF arm of Green Apple
AOD is excellent. Killed here in Philly back in March!
