Come one, Come all.
This is gonna be one hell of a throwdown if you like electronic dance music with a little bit of vocals thrown in there.
there last show at Slims (12/29/06) was awesome. Phil was in attendance, as his son's band opened the festivities. Although tonight, AL Howard will be opening the show, i'd expect to see phil milling around. He seems to have a good repoire with SLIMS, and seeing as Steve was in the band at the last show, and will be in the band at the MTN. JAM show, you kinda gotta wonder.
why not?
This band is really kicking along and throwing it down, and this is the spring tour finale and in san francisco taboot. so show this band what we're made of!! hell yeah!
Wow, Slim's is so far off my radar that I had no idea this show was coming up. How was it?
Pauly made it, he reported a good show but you can imagine the complaints about the venue.
I arrived about ten minutes after the first set began. Small crowd, so there was plenty of room to dance.
I have always liked Particle because they are an instrumental band so I was not particularly impressed by the lead guitarist singing. Steve is the musician that makes Particle unique and special. Unfortunately he was too low in the mix his playing was less inspired than I've encountered in previous shows. On this night, the lead guitarist was the featured member of the band who might be better suited to a supporting role. The drummer and bass player were solid. I especially like the drummer, he was the highlight of the show for me. He seemed to be the driver during the few times the band got in the "zone".
In between the sets, I met a twenty something year old who couldn't believe how sparse the crowd was. He told me that Particle would sell out in his hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. I guess SF sees Particle as an after party band not the main attraction.
As for Slim's hospitality....it's hard to believe that the GAMH is its sister club!
