Well y'all shouldda gone!! Great show by both performers. Kaki was playing when we walked in, grabbed a rail on the terrace and enjoyed her set. Totally talented. Would play a rhythm pattern for a few min....set her guitar down as it looped back, then she'd get on the drum kit and play against it...with a bass player joining her...cool stuff i really dug it....and she's cute as hell ta boot! I was entertained...

..This is my 1st time seeing Butler, ( saw his b'roo webcast and thought he was the best of the show)....so I was pumped to see him. I'm really liking his style of music....great drummer and bass player too....JB plays a ton of slide...mostly acoustic 12 strings....but alternated w/ some other guitars...man that cat could play! I'm just starting to get familiar w/ his material. But they tore it up....played for a hwile b4 JB did 2-3 solo songs...

...the crowd was good, and filled in all the sing-along clapping parts nicely...see LA's got "some" heart! I really can't do it justice, but I dig his whole vibe and music! I'm on the bus...

...during one of the encores his daughter ran out on stage as we were all doing a sing along, no music....the wiltern sounded great as he picked her up in his arms and joined the crowd.....took her off, visably a sleepy lil girl...so damn cute! But y'all REALLY need to check him out. Great show...8.5 outta 10 for sure...

best of all?? on the LAMA a day later....bless all you tapers!!!

We saw the SF show, had a good time except that it was late Sunday night and the Filmore seemed boomy that night (it's been seeming that way to me for about 18 months now). But we really enjoyed the show, Butler is a hell of a player with a great band. He still has a lot to learn about pacing shows, imo, but heck, he's still pretty young. And a fabulous player!
