Great venue..
Viejas Concerts in the Park
Across street from large Indian Casino if foothills of San Diego County
Adobe style buildings are an outlet store center
And in middle of this shopping dealio is "The Park"
Surrounded by stores..
Fenced off with that green mesh cloth
Tiny..maybe max 1200 people...
We set up 24 feet from stage on Jimmys side...
No setlist sorry
Set one was okay...2nd song maybe 3rd had an Eyes Of The World feel and Jimmy's playing on that tune was beautiful..
Set 2 was BIG..Very BIG..probably 2 hours...
Ran the gamut..
In middle of set was a straight ahead blues tune
Jimmy..playing conventional blues
Give me a break
WOW...
I am toast..we went across street after show and Vegased up a bit..drank smoked cigs and gambled
More later..

Don't know their songs that well but "Lets Get Down to Business" to start the second set pretty much summed up the second set. They came out and got right down to business!
how about some of the spacey segments last night? a lot more going on during those ">" than the last 2 years. *lots* of banter about Jimmy Herring's playing.... it's the new element that is the catalyst for the band's music right now.
the band themselves looked healthy and happy last night. they are definitely enjoying playing right now. very nice to see a band that has worked for song long crafting a unique sound and space in the music world still at it and still breaking new ground along the way.
oh yeah, spotted Bill Walton mid-2nd set, Schools side. didn't seem to be "getting it" seemed more into checking out the young girls... somebody needs to ask him what's up with that!
WSP blew my mind and it feels good!
KK
i saw them back in March at Langerado
agree, the space segments are really going out there
i like
Nice shots there Gdadski.
Great show again in Alpine. What a beautiful venue to see a summer show at. I really dig the small small outdoor venues. The sound was as crisp and clean as the air around. Just about had a wonderful day hanging out there, everything was mighy beautiful. It was great to see ZONERS too !! KK, Russ, Gdad you guys rock !! After that setbreak session I was spun!
Highlights
Weak Brain Narrow Mind
Love Tractor
That Eyes of the World like song
She Caught the Katy > ROCK
2nd set was a monster !!
Sonny was really highlighted throughout the night, the drums section was pretty much all him and he was wicked
The show was a little lighter than the previous night, a bit more jammy and spacey.
Great to share that all with ya!
