Winwood and his band gave us a scorcher the other night:
Highlights~A 20 min Light Up or Leave Me Alone, s Gimme Some Lovin, wailin' Mr Fantasy (despite my tellin Janet that he wouldn't play a Dave Mason song), a smokin' Low Spark with extended jams, Jose Nieto who can dance all around a fretboard plus alternating on keys with stevie who's a stunning guitar player hisself.
Lowlights~Aspen crowd (wanting to display their latest baubles, Izods and yak) who refused to dance and puffin was nicht richtig!!!!No Arc of a Diver
I'd forgotten what an extraordinary musician and songwriter Winwood is. Hadn't seen Traffic since they opened for the GDead in Buckeye Lake and hadn't seen the real Traffic since their free concert in Hyde Park in the sixties.
puffin was nicht richtig!!!!
I know what that means. What a shame.
What did you think of Had To Cry Today - OUTSTANDING in Vegas!
What Dave Mason song did he play?
Ohhhh, you got to hear him play guitar...I'm green with envy!
The last bunch of times I've seen him, we only got guitar on Dear Mr. Fantasy. Other than that it was all keyboard.
Other then Presence at Crossroads Winwood played Guitar the entire set. He RIPPED it up as well. Blew me away Presence was the highlight of the night for me. Presence, Had to Cry, Cant find my way home and then Dear MR. Fantasy. The second best thing of the night was Derek and Susan doing AnyDay Awesome
