Hi,
Haven't posted much on the Zone, but got to tell you, if you haven't checked out the John Butler Trio, you must do so. Absolutely fantastic live act, blew the roof off of Aussie Stadium. Another band I think lots of you would dig is Blue King Brown who opened the show. Check out their and JBT's performance on the MSN feed. Jack Johnson was very good, Crowded House Reunion was fun if not necessarily my thing, and I don't understand the fuss over Wolfmother. But all in all, a great start to what should be an excellent day of music worldwide (can't wait to watch Roger Waters and the Police from Giants).
Cheers,
Mike
Good that you watched the Aussie broadcast. I used to live there, so I'm biased, but I thought that Sydney (and also Johannesburg) showed so much more of the true spirit of the day... And the Crowded House encore, with everyone on stage, including Peter Garrett, brought tears to my old eyes! (Personally I'd far rather see Spilt Enz rather than Crowded House). Good call!
