DOTC-2007 was wonderful this year as always. The 3 day lineup included:
Friday: Marleys Ghost & Wake The Dead
Saturday : Stairwell Sisters,Bill Evans Bluegrass Summit & HOT BUTTERED RUM!!!!
Sunday Stu-Fest: Pat Nevins & Stu Allen Duo, Melvin Seals & JGB, Workingman's ED
The highlights were Hot Buttered Rum on Saturday night. The played for 3 1/2 Hours!!! Very inspiring set with plenty of Dead tunes added in. Loose Lucy > New Speedway Boogie > Loose Lucy Smoked!
Sunday was a Stu-Fest. He played with all three bands starting with the Pat & Stu Duo, then with Melvin Seals, & finally with Workingmans ED.
Melvin was awesome as always. He was in a very good mood as the DOTC staff had a spread of Hot Links & all the fixin's waiting for him backstage
when he arrived. Workingmans Ed played for 3 1/2 hours. Stu had to be very tired after all that guitar playing & vocals duties in one day.
Dead on the Creek is one amazing festival. The 3 meals the staff served us everyday was TOP-Notch!
Popcorn & Homemade cookies every night for desert.
The vibe among everyone was like a giant family.
There were plenty of Zoners there as well.
I'll post some setlists & pics later as I get stuff sorted out......
Nice! Butter is always a favorite of mine!
The festival gets such high praise every year...eventually I'll make it there!

Brief review (don't blink): A phenomenal time was had by all. Words really can't adequately describe the event. It was my first DOTC, and it certainly won't be my last.
A few pics to follow in the coming days.

Nice looking setlist
Wow - great pics and reviews. Sorry I missed the gig, especially when I was less than 2 miles away at Camp Wente 4 weeks before. We need to work on getting NRPS/DNB on board for next year!
NRPS played DOTC last year, didn't they?
No, But We're Working On Getting The NRPS For Next Year.......& IF David's Already There, You Know What That Means??????
No, David Nelson Band played in '05
WOW !!!!
sorry i missed it
Hey Dan --
Do you have the setlists for Wake the Dead, Stu & Pat, and Melvin & JGB?
You, as the sole audio archivist for DOTC, certainly have this info, no?
We love playing Dead on the Creek and we had a lot of fun doing the Friday night show--our fifth one. Here--to the best of my recollection--is our set list that night. I know we played all those songs and medleys, but the specific order in the second set might have been a little different than I am recalling.

Hey Now Paul !!!
Welcome to the Zone !!!
Long-time lurker, first-time poster???
This was my first exposure to WTD, and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the your set. Hope they bring you back to DOTC every year !!
Thanks, Gary. Yep. I lurk here on and off when I can, but haven't posted before today. Thought this seemed appropriate.
There's a lotta fish in this thread Welcome to the Zone Paul!
Definitely keep us informed about WTD gigs, there's quite a few fans here
In case you were wondering...
this is NOT a review
it's a photo log
m'kay?
DOTC was way cool, with lots of things to do...
...great eats...
...good libations of the liquid and herbal varieties...
it's got no signs or dividing lines
and very few rules to guide
...and, oh yeah, some great music went down, including...
...Marley's Ghost
...Wake The Dead closing out Friday night (didn't get a good shot of them, so this'll have to do)
...The Stairwell Sisters opening on Saturday
...Bill Evans Bluegrass Summit
...and Hot Buttered Rum played two smokin' sets as the headliner on Saturday nite.
Members of Bill Evans' band sat in with HBR for a couple tunes...
...and Dan wore a YMSB t-shirt the night that HBR played.
Props to Mike, who had the sound totally dialed...
...and there was a cool Zoner hangout behind the SBD.
Then on Sunday, Stu & Pat & comrades arrived...
...prior to the onset of StuStock -- "All Stu, All Day"
featuring Stu & Pat
Hippie Mike from Humboldt getting his freak on during Stu & Pat, along with a kindred-spirit dancer...
...then Melvin & JGB with two sizzling sets...
...and capped off with two solid sets by Workingman's Ed
(sorry, no good pics -- this'll have to do)
Kudos to event host Uncle John and the entire staff and volunteer crew !!
THANK YOU for a real good time !!!
Yay! What fun! Maybe next year is the year...

Thanks for the setlists, BB & Paul.
Some great memories there. I'll definitely be buying some DOTC '07 CDs when they come out. From the DOTC website: "All proceeds from CD sales go toward keeping this event alive."
BB -- one minor addition to the Stu & Pat setlist. Southern Cross had Stu's friend (Ian??) sitting in -- actually he was standing -- on lead vocals. Kickass version, too.
Wow, you guys, you're killing me! We were going to go this year, decided to spend the limited bucks on flying to Chicago for three Phil shows - no real regrets there... but this looks and sounds fabulous. Thanks for the great reviews and photos! The only other comments I had heard were a little negative, complaints about not enough meat at the meals, etc... Great to hear so many of you had a fine time. Hey, if anyone's asking, the cute JGB singers shown above are Judith Coleman (slim, long hair) and Mary Holland (curvaceous, flirty hemline - no relation to Marty Holland, the bass player).
Garyfish, we WILL meet one day...
Cheers, PeterT
