I need to take a nap before work, so more on this later, but this show tonight at Sweetwater was amazing... The Tricksters w/Donna Jean rocked the packed house and we were treated to an hour and a half of Weir sitting in.
The 2nd Set had Weir sitting in for JackStraw, BirdSong, Sugaree, Cassidy, & Eyes of The World.
I was going to post the set-list, thanks Randi for beating me to it. Got home at 3am.
I am eating a muffin and gulping coffee to re-engage! This was a night I will never forget. The Tricksters held their own all night and pushed some straight ahead rock n' roll, they were spirited, and always having FUN. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Great crowd last night, most folks got in. I went to the bathrooms only to find lots of beer kegs, so it was off to the porta-potty. It was great seeing people take pictures of every nook and cranny in the Sweetwater and like others have said, what a fitting way to send this place off...
I really loved Bobby last night, and one of the highlights of the night was seeing Donna Jean plant a little peck on his cheek, he practically blushed like a school boy. The Sugaree was insane, Jeff Mattson shined. Classic Weir conducting the band during all the chord changes in the Cassidy Jam, sticking his fingers in the air 5 times or so. Always entertaining...
Thank you Donna, Jeff, Klyph, Tom, Wendy, Mookie, Dave, Doug, Anthony, Dennis, Rob, and the whole staff at Sweetwater. If I had my way, I would not tear that old building down...

Spirit in the Sky
No Mark Karan no Barry Sless...
Don't surprise me atall to read that ZT's rocked it good last night..
Barbara called she was at show..
In the audience..Carolyn Adams, Jeff Chimenti, Dennis McNally..
Rob,
You the only one who went to this show. Where the hell was Emily??!
I was entertaining at home--supposed to be putting furniture together but the boy in charged of the drill, thought I meant something else when I asked about his *power tools*--oops!
It's great to see bob getting out and sitting in so much, I wouldn't even mind that it's always the jack straw, birdsong, cassidy sit in...but I'm not much of a donna fan.
The pics in other stuff look fun though, I always appreciate mookie
Mountain Girl and Barlow also in the crowd.
pssst... Carolyn Adams = Mountain Girl...
There were plenty of peeps out there, where are you folks?! Mark Karan was too tired, but had been invited to play. Barry Sless has the flu and needed to rest.
McNally is managing this band, and it was also great to see Mountain Girl, John Barlow, Bob Matthews, Frog PJ's, et al.
Ok, ok, I'm here....just a little tired, just finished work, which was a bit of a challenge.
Hot show last night! I greatly enjoyed the addition of Mookie to the tricksters, Jeff Mattson really shone, and the band in general was "on". Emily, I was never a huge fan of Donna with the Dead either, but really liked her more recently, last night being no exception.
Bob sounded great last night. The band energy really swelled when he was onstage, and the crowd matched that. I couldn't actually see him directly, but from where I stood I could see him perfectly reflected in one of those ornate gilt-framed mirrors! Added to the funhouse aspect of it all.
It just a fun show, DJ & the T's rocked hard. So nice to see everybody too! And now, gotta rest up for Sunday.
Bob Matthews & Betty Cantor in the audience too.
that's right, and how could we forget "The rugged and the beautiful," -- Judge & Lauren Murphy. We were happy to share the wine with them at our table...
Right the FUCK on Rob !!!!!
What a night for you !!!
That`s how we do it Marin !
>> I could see him perfectly reflected in one of those ornate gilt-framed mirrors! <<
one of the things I enjoy about GAMH also
sounds like it was pretty crowded and looks like it was pretty hot
sorry to have missed Donna, next time!
Minkin took a sweet photo of Weir, Donna, & Barlow. Check it out at: http://www.minkindesign.com/photo/
