Dark Star Orchestra
October 4, 2007
The Fillmore, SF, CA

Fun show, original setlist, the bartender was quite generous and so was Bobby, who played about 1:15 min of the first set.

Set 1:

Ain't it Crazy (but not The Rub, not sure what it was, maybe something JGB)
Gomorrah (again with the JGB, I thought maybe there were gonna go with a full on jerry band show! I could appreciate that)
Passenger
Easy Wind
(a new song? Something sung by Fake Donna)
Jack Straw*
BirdSong* (at this point I thought DAMN bob sure is predictable these days, little did I know he was gonna play for another hour)
Mexicali*
Masterpiece*
Other One*
Sugaree*
Hell in a Bucket*

End Set 1, *=Bob Weir

Then Gans came on and played during the setbreak, good thing he re-did birdsong, he can definitely do it better than Bob. (NOT) I blame Gans for my inability to keep the setlist second set, if he hadn't forced me to the bar, it would be a different story.

Second Set started with some stuff, Martin sat in, there was a That's What Love Will Make You Do and everything else is chicken scratch. Damn you Gans!

It was a fun night, Bob really surprised me, he sounded good, I took a few minutes to get equilibrated, he kept trying to play sloooooow, but this ain't ratdog, the fake boys made him keep up! Bob looked good too...the mustache might be getting bigger? Or maybe the shirt just got smaller...no puffy shirt this time?

At any rate, Go Bobby! It's always nice to see him out and about...

Thanks for your take on this show, Emily. Always fun and informative to read your reviews!!

I saw DSO 3 nights earlier up in Humboldt and had a blast. They did 3/24/87 Hampton, VA -- well performed, but these days I much prefer their original setlists.
