For my fellow DBT etc. fans:
Jason Isbell played at "Twist and Shout", the local independent music retailer here in Denver (and one of the best "record stores" around, IMHO).

Might have the order wrong (still under the weather).
Jason played with the full band ("the 400 Unit"), and the band was all seated, FWIW. The last 2-3 songs Jason played acoustic guitar, the rest he played the red Gretsch.
The show was apparently "professionally recorded" (there was a "hired" guy with a compact multitrack rig) for possible future release as an EP.
First time I've heard Jason solo, and I liked the new band and the new material very much. Now I have two bands to look out for (Jason and the DBT). It's almost like a stock split.
Jason's band was in town as opener for Cracker. Played Boulder last night, and Denver tonight. Couldn't make it to either, but would rather see Jason as the top act somewhere later.
(he came through earlier, but he played such a small place that it totally got by me; I only found out the day after).
You can be sure I won't miss him the next time.
His new band is great; i caught them in Lincoln, NE. with Cracker.
