Mission Rock

This show was a real treat!! The band is a side project for a bunch of west coast regulars--Sean Lehe from Izabella on guitar, Dave Brogan of ALO on drums, Asher Fulero from Everyone Orchestra and lots and lots of sit ins on keys and Marshall Harrell on Bass who is apparently from New Monsoon.
With the exception of it's crappy beer selection, the Mission Rock is a fun venue, heat lamps outside, a nice view of the bay and a nice size room, not too big, not too small.
For the most part, the setlist is unknown to me, I'm guessing tunes from each of the various bands, there were a few covers and a lot of funky, rock n roll jamming. The tunes I could identify--Run Like an Antelope to close the first set. I'm not a big fan of phish but these guys did a nice job with it. and the killer combo of the night to end it...Loose Lucy, the Beatles' Oh Darling with vocals by Daniella, one of the opening acts, she's from a colorado band called Magnolia Row, a tiny girl with a BIG bluesy voice. and Flyod's Have a Cigar to end it. There was an encore but they were pushing the 2 am time limit on parking and given the state of things, I wouldn't have been surprised to find a parking ticket at 2:01, so I split.
Bottom line...I hope this band continues to play more!! They were great, lots of jams, very little unnecessary filler...the joint was rocking!
