1st set third night was the best set, no contest, as far as the best night, that is debateable. Anyone go to the Wharf, Philmore, Riv., and Orph., and have a favorite run?
On paper I would have to say Riv.
out of Boston, Oakdale & Philly i would have to say my favorite show was the 3rd night of Boston followed by 3rd night of Philly.
I dug 2nd night Boston better, I'll have to hear the discs to be more objective....
these shows lived up to my hoping after hearing the warfield shows. some of my highs were 1st nite wheel to mason's in 1st set. and the bertha from the second as well as help-franklin's. the second nite was a grate experience from 4th row in front of jimmy. The show to me was in your face kick-ass jam-rock. I didn't expect the casey's to end set one after the 1000 stars whose jam was killer with phil and a big ole grin. the second set scarlet was nice and fast to start the set then the jam jam was grate to say the least, after being so long I wasn't sure if the fire was coming out and boy did it. Cucamonga was a nice treat with phil sounding his usual hauntingly comfortable. I thought the rest of the set was on fire, with a fast pace capped with a smokin golden road. to nite three where it was a nite of a lot more jamming than the other two shows but just as tight and well played as the others. the whole first set 3rd nite was excellent to me, sometimes i just want to heat this band jam. the second set from got going into the TNK and had some big jams a nice broken arrow. from dark star to minite hour was really nice. I thought all 3 were grate in their own way, my big nite would be the 2nd and I was 4th row and feeling happy. I hope there is a freebie from these shows, please "Q"!
