Just came across Billboard magazine and the Phil run was the highest grossing concert event for that particular week. Check out http://www.billboard.com/billboard/charts/boxscore.jsp
The benefit probably inflated the $$ a bit, but it's still nice to see musical quality at the top of the list compared to what else is there.
But the real story is that Phil is playing small venues. All the other acts are playing sold out arenas and PLQ was working hard fo da money.
Thanks Phil
stay in theaters.
and what the hell is Sting charging? sheesh

Check out what C,S,N&Y charge for the MSG show..
I dig those guys but 150.00/200.00..
Im surprised Neil would be apart of it...
Hopefully they will send some cash for some
charities...

What?
Another of those Garcia-esque distorted views of a musician?
They're in it for THE MONEY.
Just like the baseball player who likes 'the school system' in a certain city & signs to play there. Just happens to be the city that offered the most $$$ EVERY time, but then they say "It's not about the money"....
The difference between Neil Young solo or CSN versus CSNY is HUGE.
Like about 10-15 thousand seats & 50 to 75 bucks a ticket. EVERY show.
That's why the virtuous Neil would be involved.....

charities...
Like the 'Rebuild Stephen Stills' Nose Project'?
Anyone check out what Neil was charging 2 summers ago for his solo tour??

Need I remind you of Neil's work with Farm Aid, the Bridge School, etc.?
Also, he did step up and buy Lionel Trains when it was going under...
I heard that sci gets 150k per gig now. Kind of unrelated, but I thought that was interresting.
