Gov. Huntsman declared yesterday that it was Return to Forever day in Utah. Lenny White declared from the stage that we have the hippest Governor in the country... the jury is till out on that.

Im not that familiar with the names of the tunes so I will leave the set list for Gunnar and Jocko.

Set 1 was great, started out slow and worked everyone into the RTF fusion mode. I especially liked they way Chick Corea and Al DiMeola coordinated thier parts. Ive seen both before but never together. Very precise.

Set 2 featured Stanley Clark on stand up bass, Al played an older looking hollowbody (I couldnt see what kind and didnt recognize it), Chick sat at a grand piano... they called this an "acoustic" set. This was the best part of the show. Stanley's solo blew everyone away and there was immediate standing O as soon as he was done.

We (me and one of my jamming partners) had great seats 2nd row center in the balcony. Had a chance to talk to Gunnar at set break which is always a treat. Would like to have wandered down to find Jocko and Slickrock... but alas, the 1.5 hr drive home needed to get underway.

It sounds fresh as ever! The entire night was eye and ear candy. My mind was blown.

"In a day of boy bands, this is a man band,"

I enjoyed the show. And I too have to say "nice review Ken".

Thanks Ken. I don't get on here much. I just noticed your comment.

Gunnar and Jeff went to the Depot to see Bob last night. It was a Sold out crowd.

I was going to go but I stayed home with our two cats. They both had their teeth cleaned yesterday. Gunnar's girl, Pearl, had to have a tooth extracted. They were still pretty doped up. It was a trip watching them.
