Yahoo Willie - I can't wait!!
so who's sick in the band
from i clips
Due to the illness of a band member, by request of the band, the Phil Lesh and Friends show won't be broadcast tomorrow. Sorry, and thanks for your understanding!
Jackie, I believe
They are showing the show from All Good
any updates?
always 1 thing after another with this band.....people always sick, shows getting cancelled and restarted, webcasts getting cancelled, i'll be at widespread and trey, enough wasting of everyone's time...have fun with the $500+ a night sidestage seats or the vip rows that didnt cost anything extra last time phil played the nokia....way to make shit so lame I dont want to go anymore, no wonder jimi herring and warren aren't in the band anymore. i'm sure it'll be cool watching the sidestage idiots that were willing to pay that much to be mocked by the band and the remainder of the crowd....i think i'd rather go see the lion king this year on broadway and save the $6,000 or $7,000 I could spend on being sidestage.
Nobody posting and the show is over. So I made up my own. Let's see who takes it for real
------------------------------------------------
One long set, with David Gilmore sitting in for a sick Larry Campbell. Shorter versions of the tunes with tight, killer jams. Particle dude lights out on everything, wacky, funky, perfect harmonies and turn on the dime changes. Perfect show in all respects. Large beard and glasses and a smile on empty space appeared over the stage.

WITH JOHN SCOFIELD
Pinman... LOVE YOUR SET... Maybe Phil needs a little help in that department... Not sure what really went down today - sounds like things were off the axis in all things Zone... Just having some fun. But hey, who can deny that setlist from Pinman.
someone delete mike hunts post
whatta dillweed!
weird how the zone still doesnt have this setlist and over 15k people were there for it . . haha
Hey MikeHunt, typical whiner asshole post from you. Jackie is sick and you whine? comeon.I hope you stay away. I saw some awesome shows this tour, some were not. Its still worth it to a lot of us. Take your negativity to the Widespread boards and let us enjoy Phil while we can.
umm.... bump.
Hey Mike - that is a pretty harsh assessment - we've been up and down the VIP thing here and its old and tired. Tix are available for regular prices and if someone has a little extra $$$$ to shell out for VIP then more power to 'em.
No one will be mocking them - least of all the band.
Believe me - when Phil is playin these days -"mocking" any fan of the music is about as far from his world as it gets.
That said - the other posts attacking you aren't neccessary - everyones entitled to their gripes and a bad mood - and I hope to catch some Trey and Widespread too this Fall.
But if you want to talk legitamite complaints - how about Trey scheduling a show in Brooklyn that seats 500 - announcing a presale and having a ticketmaster sale with 100 seats available. Why not play a small theatre that holds 2000?? - it would still be quite intimate and afford those of us who were seeing Trey when Phish was nobody a chance to catch a nice small show.
Anyways - Phil continues to deliver the goods and somehoe I get the feeling that if your posting here and live in the N.E. you'll be at least one Nokia show when the time comes.
Phil rules.
I wasn't there and I got this third gen...
1st Set:
Shakedown
Alabama Getaway
Like A Ball & Chain
Minglewood blues
BIODTL
Althea
Cosmnic Charlie
2nd Set:
Casey Jones
Jam
Eyes
Jam
Wheels on Fire
Masons Children
Viola Lee
Deal
Viola
Bertha
Viola
encore Tom Thumbs Blues
looks sweet.
I think he deserves the attacks. His posts are negative, harsh, and at times out of line. So what if Phil wants to make a bit more money with the VIp, there are people who will pay it and good for them, its not for me. Phil is 68 and still wants and tries to give us quality music, I for one am very appreciative, and when he does nail it, it is awesome. Geez, I hope to live as long as him. Enjoy it while it is here and stop raining on our parade.
even the broadcast was from All Good instead of live, it rocked! i haven't see Phil and Friends since Buffalo Fall 2007. I was not real excited about the Jackie Green or Larry Campbell thing from the start. Show was good, but not nearly the best. The Podcast from All Good showed me that Jackie seems more comfortable in that slot and Larry Campbell was shredding it up. I have since changed my mind about both of them, even though i am still impartial to warren and jimmy. anyway, i've seen phil alot and have never paid more then probably $50 to see a show. everythings getting more. I once paid $75 for a sold out grateful dead show and $150 for Phish's Big Cypress (well worth them both), but never $6,000 (that's a rip, but it is NYC) i can't explain anything about those Nokia? show tickets, but Mike Hunt (MyCunt) is an asshole.
I just heard that Sco sat in for the entire first set.
The Violas were short and not jammy and it looked like Phil was looking at his watch to get out of there...
weird song selection for sco in the first set. youd think theyd let him rip eyes at least.
So , who was sick? as it seems that both Jackie (Ball and Chain) and Larry (BIODTL, Wheel's On Fire) were both there and singing?
NorthBeach
Shorttime (tobethere): The Trey in Brooklyn is for a reason, he can harvest the most energy out of that situation for his comeback show, we want the best out of Trey possible. I definately was quick to drop $300+ to stubhub for a ticket, face value was only $35 (way less than when Phil played SOBS). That show will be the shit, sorry guys to spit the harsh truth, and I'm sure some of you are listening to sunshine daydream all pissed off at me, but its real. I don't post here much at all, but the Nokia situation was laughed at by about everyone of my friends (yes they will be attending, not VIP though, they will be the people laughing AT the VIP sections). Phil is making it all about the money, not about the shows. Its a joke, seriously, and I will be there for the last few nights predominantly to spend the last of the halfway decent Phil shows with my best friends. I just feel like the last few years have been a big slap in the face, starting from 12-17-04 with Chris Robinson at the Warfield all of the way until now. If you people disturbed by my comments were at 95%+ of the Phil shows since then you'd understand, case closed. Now its about different ticket prices, how much can you drain NYC for in 3 weeks, not different setlists and better damn musicians than BABY JESUS KENNY LOGGINS STEVE MOLITZ. I hope Phil doesn't think/expect people to want to see baby jesus play for weeks. Its not very realistic. I'd rather see Michael Bolton play with Phil and Friends. People need to learn to take constructive criticism, sorry if SOME of you don't want to hear it, but some of you need to wake up and stop pretending its like it was in 2000-2003.
you paid $300 to see trey solo. you are cooler than i could have ever imagined. baby jesus doesn't have a beard. Micheal Bolton? Is that constuctive criticism, cause it sounds like your just trying to be a douche. Why is it easier for trey to "harvest energy" from less people. Plus if you are there all he will get is negative vibes anyways. you smell bad.
<<< baby jesus doesn't have a beard.
lol.
Mike Hunt, you're saying that shit & you openly admit you paid $300 to see Trey?
lol
Everyone was present except the lady who has been singing with the band lately, and one other thing i noticed was that jackie did not have his organ and keyboard setup on stage, but that first set with scofield was sick and that althea was killer
i recognize constructive criticism when i see it, but writing off molitz as a poor musician and then invoking the name of kenny loggins of all people is neither constructive nor productive on your part.
btw, can we get a 10k lakes setlist, puhlease?
You suck at listening to music if you don't think Molitz brings some new, interesting stuff to the table. If you don't like it, that's one thing, but he's no mere puppet playing it safe. ...and here we go again with "they aren't any Warren and Jimmy". Well, no shit. What an epiphany that is.
this is the offical setlist

Mike Hunt - please post in the Other Stuff folder.
That's funny about looking like Kenny Loggins. Maybe that's why he's there....
Molitz has never did anything for me and I've always seen him as the weak link.
lol at mike hunt . . hahaha . .
yea those warfield 04 shows were horrible! ;) hahahhaha
wow... somneone ban that guy ;P
That setlist isn't entirely accurate. They played Don't Let Me Down either before or after Eyes. I really enjoyed this show. Talk about a great finale to another amazing 10KLF.
Damn...enough speculation. I was there, Theresa was sick, Jackie and Larry were absolutely on fire!! Just listen to this Eyes when those tapes come out...And that Mason's, oh man, what a show! That Jam between Wheels > Masons was out of this world, ther is no way I ever saw that Mason's Children coming. Don't Let Me Down!! My favorite Lennon song played by my favorite band at this point...The first set with Scofield definately had some hard shredding too, but they pulled it all out with that second set. It may not be much to look at, but I urge everyone to give it a listen before judging.
i had a ball...it was a perfect day to be out, just enough sun to make it hot... not too packed, people just sauntered from all corners of the ranch with lots of room for the Shakedown opener, which had us smiling and the vibe was real fun...
from Althea on it got great.. the first set I remember seemed kind of short, I knew Scofield would show.. he's awesome and was having a ball with MMW- which was outrageous of course...
we were joking that Mnglewood just isn't the same when the slide sounds so good.
they're great, just what I expected... the whole area I could see was raging the whole thing from Wheels on Fire on...
I haven't seen Phil in ages, small clubs with the Q I think, but this is as good ((better)) as any of that Chris Robinson stuff I didn't care for... they are all players these days.
I like it pretty sometimes, and the Eyes jam got there but people were just so excited to hear the funk and have fun. I'm going back to New York City...
(((fun)))
$300 for Trey?=loser
I like Trey, but anyone paying $300 to see him shouldn't be pointing fingers at others who will pay less then that for a great seat plus access to a lounge at a Phil show.
$300 for Trey? = Tool
Devin, so Scofield was in for all of set one and none of set two?
Any comments on the placement of Don't Let Me Down?
Can you confirm an appearance of Mr. Charlie (or deny it?)
Thanks, sounds like a good show! Do we know what was wrong with Teresa? Hope she's well soon..
>>Devin, so Scofield was in for all of set one and none of set two? Yes only set one.
>>Any comments on the placement of Don't Let Me Down? I liked it no problems here.
Mr. Charlie... no
>>Do we know what was wrong with Teresa? I don't know about Teresa, but Jackie was the one that was sick. He was pounding the gatorade all night and he was as pale as a ghost. The kid for being sick did one hell of a job.
Good show, Phil was having a blast. You can tell he Really likes his new toy.
Whoops, thought you meant sick in the illness way!
Thanks for that, but was wondering more about WHERE the placement of Don't Let Me Down was...
I heard before or after Eyes, do you know?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a setlist nag, I guess..
Before Eyes.
You rock. Thanks.
I`ve seen Phil about a dozen times now from the Wiltern in`99 to the Greek in May,and the only time he was even close to a disappointment was when Trey was with him at Vegoose!
I was at this show - came up from Richmond, Va and it was just great - yes Jackie had been sick from a brief trip to Mexico per the I-clips people but was better by show time - drinking gatorade and eating a banana - Phil could not have been in a better mood. The Shakedown started like a clap of thunder and it was just very good. Listen to the eyes - I am just thankful to see Phil and his friends whoever they are - a friend of Phil is a friend of mine - just enjoy - looking forward to Merriweather and will have to make a few at NY for sure. I will say that Detroit Lakes is a long where from anywhere unless you live in the Twin Cities

i think there were alot of great shows w/chris robinson!(george mason, house of blues '05), A.C.)
Listening to this show for the first time right now.
All I can say is that it is clear to me that they get better each and every show.
These 'friends' are very good musicians and know how to listen! That is a big part of being a great band.
Glad Phil put on a nice show for you out in MN!
Wow just finished up listening to this one and I will eat a triple stack Viola sandwich any day!!...... some of the smoothest transitions I have heard Phil & the Phriends pull off all year...... Great show.
this is THE show
