* Bob on guitar!!!!
Whatta night, whatta great time! Bob blessed us last night with an absolutely killer show. You knew things were going to get tasty as soon as Bob stepped out on stage and grabbed guitar! Nice! I don't know how long it's been since he has attempted to play guitar, but I'm pretty certain this was the first time in a number of shows that he has reached for it. He only played it on the first tune, "Watching the River Flow" ... but how appropriately is that considering the Ohio River is running right next to us?
I was a little skeptical at first regarding the venue. I've never been to a "casino" outdoor stage, but I was really impressed with the surroundings and the staff. No pat downs - NONE. Staff was very chilled and let you get your groove on. Horseshoe Casino set up the stage in the midst of a few hills, so the entire time - you're almost completely surrounded by trees and lush nature. It was quite cozy and intimate. The night was perfect, a nice summer heat with cloud cover and a slight august wind.
Bob was in fine form, vocals clear and the sound dialed in quite nicely. We opted for last row in the back - straight on view - for plenty of boogie room and no distractions. I gotta say, the "Visions ... " was a personal hightlight - but there was plenty of great times throughout the night that I have several close "2nd's" as far as song selection goes. It's hard to pin down the greatness, it seemed to ooze outta every song. Just one of those night!
Everything seemed perfect - weather, staff, venue, crowd & most especially Dylan and his band. It culminated in a fantastic evening and a grin & glow to last the next few weeks!
Glad to hear it. Was just bitching to a buddy this morning that it's been over two years since his last NC show.
Glad you had a great time, thanks for the review!
sweet! I'm seeing the show on Wednesday!
Great setlist!!! Way to go, Uncle Bob!
