27 years since I've seen them. They were in fine form. Covered a lot of ground. Only songs I recognized were Up From The Sun and the encore, Lost On the Highway, though there were a few other tunes from the first 3 albums in there. Strong energy, Chris tore it up on bass all night. Tight 90 minute set. Curt isn't a great lead guitarist but who cares. An odd assortment of covers including Wasted Days and Wasted Nights, Tenessee Stud, Glory Haleluah into a song about Dixie. A steal at $15.
Opening band, Squash Blossom Boys were allright. They seemed befuddled after 30 minutes with noone dancing. Not used to the Santa Fe crowd. Finally two couples got going the last few songs.
i've heard of the meat puppets but never even listened to them what are they comparable to?
Absolutely noone. Country Psychedelic Punk if you had to categorize. JB
