This was an awesome free outdoor show in downtown Stamford as part of the Stamford Downtown Blues and Jazz Festival. Two blocks downtown were closed off with vendors booths and bars/restaurants with outdoor seating. The stage was set up in a small park at the end of the closed off street. Saturday afternoon included two blues bands and a rockabilly band warming up the crowd for Levon.
It was an excellent show. Levon's band included a four piece horn section, Jimmy Vivino on guitar, Larry Campbell on guitar, mandolin and fiddle; Teresa Williams on guitar and vocals, Amy Helm on mando, drums and vocals; little Sammy Davis guest on harp and vocals, acoustic bass, keyboards, and another drummer/percussionist to play while Levon played mando. Here's a partial setlist:

Scratch My Back (Sammy Davis)

Levon played about an hour and forty-five minutes. It started to rain during the last song. Late in the show Levons's voice was showing the strains of 3 shows in 3 days. My buddy taped it on his Zoom H4, gotta see how it turned out. There was at least one other taper there also.
Great meeting up with a couple of zoners, sorry I missed some of you.
Excellent show indeed. They also played Back To Memphis that was great. That rain storm was timed perfect, glad I had a ride because I don't do so good driving in the rain at night.
Levon has really put together a great band. Hopefully I can catch them again sometime soon.
Last night while dancing to the music, someone tapped me on the shoulder and asked me who was playing. I told him Levon Helm. The guy asked me if it was the same Levon that was in The Band. Yes.
I guess he had just walked out of work with a co-worker heard the music and told him it sounded like The Band. His co-worker told him he was crazy. I saw the guy dancing and having fun the rest of the night. A great show to walk up on without any prior notice.
