"chris did not fuck up sugaree" - sounds like Sarah Palin at the debate... Looks like a lame setlist. Bring back the Q!

Pinman, thank god someone else wants to keep it real. chris robinson reminds me of a cupcake. Why does phil have cupcake robinson sit in and not warren. What is wrong with this picture? I feel like all of this is almost intentional, like Phil wants to retire sooner than later so he is intentionally making things mediocre at best. Why isn't Trey in the band now, he's healthy and tearing up every show he plays? Maybe some people don't like Trey but its sure as hell better than the current lineup. Anybody at this point, even Sting in the band would be better. And I'm not knocking the musicians in the band, just the chemistry between some of the new folks in the band. The bottom line is there ARE alternatives to the same thing we've been hearing for years. My reason for even posting was because we got NO WARREN but plenty of Chris Robinson. I wasn't expecting to see Warren but its a slap in the face to have Chris Robinson but not Warren when Warren is in the same building every night. Why aren't Phil and Warren practicing for the Dead? And by the way, the sound is horrible again this tour, its muddy and hard to hear Phil. Enough is enough. I thought it was funny at Merriweather watching this old dude I see at alot of shows go over to the soundboard and yell at the soundman demanding his money back saying "this is the worst sound I've ever heard at a show". I am trying to be constructive here, not rude or mean or anything. Its like we went from first class to coach in a matter of a couple years, and its not Phil's ability to play or age cuz he still crushes it every night. The way I see it is that Phish is coming back right as Phil is slowing down, all things happen for a reason, I guess all good things come to an end. We should be glad we had the quintet for the short time we did. At least Phil is trying to bring back some Q songs, THANK GOD (1000 stars, rock n roll blues). I have been waiting patiently for YEARS for these songs, so I definately wanna give props for that. All I want is the professional music that was a part of our lives a few years ago. I miss Jimi Herring more than ever with Phil. Welcome to the underground for life baby!!!!

chris never fucks up sugaree. not with the new earth mud, the black crowes, or with phil and friends.

why does CR remind you of a "cupcake"? what the fuck does that even mean..?

i'm sure glad i don't live in your reality, jrcrillin. i'm having a great time in mine with the band just the way it is...

ps: ever consider u r doing a *lot* of projecting on people u don't even know?

I really dig Chris Robinson and he was great when with Phil Lesh & Friends. He adds that rock star sheen unlike the overweight and overwrought guy that you'd prefer.

And I thought that Jimi died back in 1970.

Pay no attention to "Mike Hunt."

This guy has been trolling here for a while now. Check the summer OH show review for more proof of his sorry act. . .

I bet the Robinson-led Sugaree was excellent too!

chris and jackie shared the verses. i'm not a big black crowes fan, but i did dig chris a couple years ago when he was phil's vocalist.

the reason chris sat in is because the crowes were the headliner.

wanna really bitch about what could have been? joan osbourne was playing at another venue across town. if only, if only, if only.

^^^Nice Halloween change 11jam!

Thanks for the links. . .

I'm surprised by how few show reviews there are from this southern Swing.

that sugaree was one of the best I have heard live since 95... def in the top ten of those since...

cr was on, and him and jge did well trading verses, and vocals

got there late... during chest fever... I think I caught the best part of the set...

the crowes set was damn good... loved their version of 44 blues... wiser time was unexpected, and thorn in my pride was split between a drum solo that wasn't too bad....

luther... yeah, he's a great fit with the band. It's like the crowes on stereroids... like adding sless with phil's band... same thought... ;-)

The Crowes on steroids=Marc Ford. Luther does a good job though.

no offense, but marc ford only wishes he could do what luther can do. I'm not a big fan of either, prob seen 20 or so shows with marc in the band, and none of them are as good as the one I have seen with luther.

chest fever was a very unexpected, yet tasty treat.

I'm with Puff. Luther is far superior to Marc Ford or any of the others who have come and gone. This is the best I've ever heard the Crowes. I'm sure that is due in large part to Luther's presence in the band. Chris' tutelage under Phil probably hasn't hurt either. If they come thru your town I'd highly recommend the show.

my friend said Sless wasn't there...can anyone confirm?

Sless was not in the house. But the house was in the deep south. It was a crows croud. Went up from
FLa to catch what I thought was going to be the only Phil this fall (until they added the NC and baltimore and the NOKIA) Wehnt wiht little expectations and came away with alot of excitement for NY. Show was very upbeat. The boys seemed to enjoy . I think
Jackie is a breath of fresh air and LArry is outstanding. I didnt see any whirling Theresa. She blended in nicely when she was on stage. she seemed to weave in and out tactfully. Enjoyed wastching her adust Larry's mike. Lots of upbeat tunes and even tho would have loved standing on the moon or unbroken chain, got a beautiful box and very nice frankins. This is what it is and this is what we have . We need need to take it and appreciate every note because it wont be with us forever. when u get confused listen to the music play
Thank you phil and friends for a tasty tease. Am so psyched for NY

Thanks for the reviews! Larry does Chest Fever in the Levon Helm band. Natural fit for P+F too.
