incredible how well these guys were playing at only their third show!

the music was lighter and more effervescent than what i've heard furthur play. i thought they took the music way furthur than furthur, that what they were playing was grateful dead music liberated into whole new arenas versus furthur who feels like they're playing dead music enshrined...

(hey admin, shouldn't the devils have a folder that isn't buried in this one?)

I think it's important for BK & MH to play with uber A- list talent that will keep the music alive & Magic. Passing the torch for some of the best music ever played is an awesome responsibility & great endeavor on their part as elders. I like this line up. It seems more authentic.

I think I'm gonna poke around & see this band some more -because this kind of talent has huge potential... It's just a matter of time before the expansion of the takes hold, like it did for the GD.

Not a Keller song. Appeared on the last RD tour.

Your House
Lyrics: Robert Hunter
Music: Mickey Hart, Steve Kimock

One of the new lyrics written by Robert Hunter for the Rhythm Devils (Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzman). These are the lyrics as published in Robert Hunter's journal.

Into my shoes and up on my feet
Out of the house and into the street
Down to the corner, left at the light
Block and a half, then make a right

Walk by tiptoe, walk on my hands
Cats on the corner out making deals
Look at me weird but I don't react (note 1)
Gotta walk right, that's a fact

Chorus
Gotta get to your house, your house
Gotta get to your house
Gotta get to your house, your house
Gotta get to your house
Yes I do, yes I do
Yes I do, yes I do

Down in the alley and over the wall
Dog at my heels, not friendly at all
Flat on my belly, crawl under a fence
I'm almost there barring accidents

But accidents happen, they usually do
Whenever I'm trying to run into you
There's wires and brambles to trip up my feet
It seems like fate don't want us to meet

[chorus]

Torn and tattered, scratched and sore
I finally make it to your front door
I knock three times, no one replies
It's Saturday night, so it's no surprise

You gave me a key, so I let myself in
The floors are polished, it's neat as a pin
You left me a note, and what does it state?
I headed to your house, I just couldn't wait

[chorus]

I call my house, you answer the phone
Say: you can come over, but I'm not alone (note 2)
There's someone I met on the way over here
That looked like you, in the dark from the rear

Out of the house and down to the street
Retracing my steps when who should I meet
Someone who looked like you to a T (note 3)
And seems to be looking for someone like me

Love on a floor that's neat as a pin
You moved out and I moved in
I hope you're happy at my address
The windows are clean but the floor is a mess

[chorus]
[chorus]
[etc]

thx for the review's and links! missed the den show (i was moving sadly, not down to denver and back)

7 walkers show proved Billy K is back in the groove, playing so many beats per measure, and so many fills, he sounds like the 70-77 Billy.

Next up: I have to see and hear of one show where Bill (and Mickey perhaps) play with John K. Bill is playing so well, it has to happen and when it does it should be incredible.

Make it happen Bob and Phil.

The Devils and crew absolutely rocked the Orpheum crowd in Flagstaff on the 27th - scorching versions of old and new songs, including a double encore, finishing with Almost Cut My Hair (Davey rocks!!) My only regret is that the show hasn't appeared on Archives yet:-( If anyone finds a copy I can download and burn I would be immensely grateful!
