saw carlos and steve winwood at great woods last night

love winwood, seen him many times

havent seen carlos in maybe 20 years - it was superb

i didnt keep a setlist, but here's some of what I remember, roughly in order



couple of tunes I didnt know
long drum solo, then fantastic bass solo, then another drum solo

there were hendrix quotes all night long, Third Stone, Voodoo Child, and then If Six was fantastic - but they left out the best line - I'm the one that's got to die when its my turn to die... so let me live my life the way I want to...


Also, the light show was superb ... with a long sequence of family album type pictures of Carlos through the years, including a clip of him playing soul sacrifice at woodstock - while the band was playing soul sacrifice - that was weird - but also photos of him at 15 or so

they also had some amazing video of dancers in africa doing intense things, including dancing on six foot high stilts and things
