another GREAT fun show last night in LA. 500 freaks out on a friday night, nice room and solid music from 4 good ole boys. 1st set had a country feel to it, 2nd set focused more on the rock & roll. some songs I can recall, not in any particular order:

High Time - faster tempo than the usual Dead version, came out of Bob Rules then went back in.

Women R Smarter - encore

Breathe - with lots of Dark Star teases in the intro

Birds of a Feather - a Phish song. they make it their own, very cool tune

Best Feeling

Kidney in a Cooler

Little Wing - Gibb lead vocals and guitar solo with his teeth!

Play This

band left LA after the show, sleeping in the Double Decker Double Wide on the way up to Tahoe. they are psyched for tonight's show and tomorrow's at the Fillmore. very psyched, ready to see the randoms come outta the woodwork!

also, they have no tour dates planned after Jam Cruise in January, and this is only tour between now and then. so catch them while you can cause the future is uncertain, and so is the present. they are just playing so much on the fly each night it's great to see, it's not all rehersed and practiced, they go all over the place, you hang on and go with them. they are tuned into the audience energy and there's a lot of give and take. just outstanding musicianship and a whole lotta fun

have a nice weekend!

one other tune of note:

Look at Where We Are - Moseley playing a Strat and Keller on bass

I'm not being negative here but I thought I'd relay a funny anecdote. A guitar player friend of mine said to me "When we first started our band (in college) people would always ask me "Are you a jamband?" And at first I thought they meant like early sabbath, you know jamming always moving directionally, so I'd say Yeah! Then I found out jamband just means you smoke alot of pot and don't practice" Hilarious

that's funny in a, "your friend is an ignorant chump" kind of way.

Don't be an ass. You know that shit is funny. Regardless of the reality of the situation, I don't see how you can not, objectively, think this was a humourous statement to make.
