The tabernacle is an interesting venue, I guess it's an old church camp community. Lots of fancy houses on the side of the hill. It is very similiar to Mt Gretna in PA. The venue itself is a wooden camp like structure with very nice acoustics. Waiting in line folks from the venue had treys of cheese, crackers and fruit for everyone. Very friendly atmosphere. Inside, the seating was on benches like church pews. I chose to stand beside the soundboard right behind Peggy and Eric. Was nice to see and talk with them as well as a bunch of hobos. The show was nice. They sounded great especially the vocal harmonies. Little Bit O' Me was really special but all the songs sounded great. Carey was playing a board like drum and also a round hand drum at times. Grubbs bass sounded great. Black Bear is not one of my favorite tunes but boy did I like how it sounded tonight, very nice. Lonecroft Ramble is one of my favorite Skehan instrumentals and they did it very nicely. I only wished that after doing Loving You they would have done Bringing My Baby Back Home.
After the show and before the encore the emcee came out announcing that some cars needed to be moved (parking was tight) one of them turned out to be Grubbs car. It was pretty funny.
I had to leave after RRE went on so I missed Jorma. Apparently Jorma lost his voice and did an instrumental show with sing alongs.
They were allowing taping for RRE but not Jorma, however, I did not see any tapers.
Do they ever play electric?
Now that I would like to see
it's definitely a little weird to call it an acoustic show.
Carbone does play the electric on Hard Livin', and on Sunday's show he played it on the acoustic, and Carey, instead of playing a regular kit, was on bongos and one of those drum "boxes."
> They were allowing taping for RRE but not Jorma,
That's so they could sell it themselves:
