The Klein is a wonderful old theater. Last time there for me was '87 for Hot Tuna and The Band
( I won front row tickets from 95.1)
This was a gametime decision and somehow I was able to get my buddy (we will call him Banged-Up Rob) out and on the road to bridgport.
Pull up thru the getto to a fine looking, bright white, all lit up and shiny theatre. Three shiny cop cars also protecting the lot kids selling nitrous.
We were treated to a 1/2 full Sun night show (10/16/89?) and from the Bucket opener all the way thru the "extra" encore of Second that Emotion, not only were the band flawless, the sound, tone, and tempo were perfect for '89.
Old Banged-Up Rob even comented that it sounded like the GD with no mistakes...
Healy had the place wired. The kind of sound that blows by and moves your hair. Or to be more discriptive, the kind of sound that could lead to shitting your pants uncontrolably. Shit your pants jam? thats the kind of sound healy had going.
Back to Banged -Up Rob. Well, he made it home! And sorry to the chick who was jaming Stevie Wonder out of her unattended and unlocked car. Banged -Up Rob gave her a heart attack when he jumped in, locked the door, and started his own private party. She kind of belived me when I said he was harmless.
Banged up Rob - that is great!
I think this is the show they played.
