Figured these were worth review folder notice. Normally wouldn't 'review' panic or phish shows but hey, fuck it, they're in Georgia and it's a Home Team thing. Apparently the benefit 9/23/10 w/ the whole 'album thing' was bees knees. Frankly, it just kinda pissed me off because I knew I wouldn't get a 'last straw'..
Anyway late, here's a pic or two....will maybe talk a bit more about the overall performance show later when my head is level. I will say I have mixed feelings about 'airplane' being more or less a stock tune. short and sweet more often than not. I remember when that song was special and could actually really go somewhere. But now, it's almost filler.
somewhere end of 1st set?
another

4 1st time played
The Red Hot Mama>Drums>Arleen>Red Hot Mama was so god damn good.
I think the band is pretty locked in right now and Jimmy isn't shredding the shit outta every tune. Seems to be letting the music breath more, playing less notes, and dare I say listening more. Sounding more like a band not just panic on autopilot and the Jimmy Herring show.
Was surprised to hear the Young 'Like A Hurricane' cover and was more than happy w/ all the segues and jams.
Also good to see Keane sit in for two tunes one of which was on a 'regular' guitar not pedal steel
thanks!!!
