I won't be there, please provide updates!
Where are you going to be Rob? Anyway, thanks for all the updates you have provided, it makes it fun for this deadhead in Chico, California. I am going to New Years, but I am afraid I don't know how to update. Anyway my brother, HAPPY NEW YEARS! Love BruceEdwardWeber(eddieboy)!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your note Bruce! I will be at home tonight with family... Happy 2009 to you and ENJOY tonight. Last night was AMAZING!
Did anyone catch Warren Haynes hanging out across the street from the venue last night post-show? I have NO IDEA what the hell he was doing out here, seeing as he had a show in NYC last night and one again tonight. But it was him, alright. Shaking hands and mingling, seemed like he was having a great time.
No Warren tonight, but who cares! Sless is melting faces. Should be a great show.
was not warren

Holy crap, this show just keeps getting better.
all good things in all good time...
except for the weir mental collapse on stage midpoint wharf rat through scarlet, much of which he sat looking bewildered unable to play eventually having to exit stage during some of the heaviest moments musically. I wasn't sure if he would be coming back after that exit. Jackie immediately stepped in upon Phil's prompt, it seemed and lead the band into Sugaree. He managed to pull it together for a solid version of good lovin' but then began spacing out, literally. Maybe these are typical Weir theatrics these days. There seemed to be some sort of confusion as to who would sing some of the songs and I think if weir could he would sing every one. It was almost like Bobby was upset to have to let Phil or Jackie sing and at times seeming to refuse to even play. You could tell he was upset to let phil sing on Scarlet. This after completely blowing it during wharf rat earlier. he appeared to not know where he was at times , maybe a time warp I suppose. Somehow the boys pulled it off though. I wasn't sure we were getting an encore after the weirdness that we just witnessed. For some reason Phil's vocals were turned off or way down during dark star v1.

Thanks, TRob. You made it come alive. The pictures are wonderful as I listen to gdradio.
man what a great show from phil
The Phil show was totally electrifying! I came up with some dance moves that I had not had in 20 years! WHen Phils set came to an end the crowd was mesmorized and a weird silence fell upon the venue. People were just walking in a daze with big smiles on their faces. I started a rumor that after Weir saw that set he would bow out and let Phil do another set! Oh well no luck.
What happened in Wharf Rat?
My guess is that Ratdog and Phil don't play the change before the bridge exactly the same. I think Phil waits a few more beats than Bob, because it seemed like Bob went for it a bar or two before the rest of the band, who at that point were mostly Phil's guys and used to following him.
So Phil tries to pick it up but by that point the whole band was a bit confused and it didn't quite take. That's a tricky progression for a whole band to pick up out of context...about as easy as dropping the needle onto the record at that exact spot.
For a performer that kind of gaff can really effect your focus, and we all know how tempermental Bobby can be. The rest of the band of course doesn't want to leave him hanging either so it's awkward as hell for all. There seemed to be a bit of a struggle for Bob not being able to take the lead at that point, in the GD days Phil did not lead in the way that he does now. So instead of letting the music sort itself out ("if you get confused just listen to the music play" "let the music play the band") Bob called for the do-over "from the last verse". Something I've never heard them do mid-song.
The great thing about a mistake like this is that you know they're all just going to kill it that much more afterward to make up for it. What an incredible show.
P.S. Bobby and Ratdog get a Phil-bump for "At a Siding". STUNNING!
oh yeah the 11>slipknot>elevator>franklin's that i just heard was unreal...this sequence better than the last night at the Nokia perhaps? Was it even the same sequence?
ok just checked was the slipknot>elevator that i remembered from the Nokia and there was th 11 in the second set and no franklin's..so not the same at all.
Sless is the MAN !!
Bobby's sets were spectacular both nights..
^^^indeed. quite amazing all around. yay for sound!
"weir mental collapse on stage midpoint wharf rat"
totally agree with Gregulator post and Happy 420's comments as well on this.
Bobby says something like "Wait a minute let's try this again" - when nothing seemed to me to be missed in Wharf Rat - just go into "I'll get up and fly away".
After that, a verse or 2 into Good Lovin' - Bobby just sat down(!) looking bewildered.
Then if I recall he stood up pointed at Phil/band, said something to everyone in the ear-sets and exited the stage. At this point I was concerned seriously that Bobby was not well, mentally exhausted, something not right. Or was it just a clash of egos? At that point I wanted to know if Bob was physically OK - or was it just a Weir moment?
Phil and Jackie picked it up with Sugaree, Phil grinning widely through it - and then Bobby returns seeming OK for Scarlett altho stummbling a bit into Come Together. I then felt like it was Ratdog 'with Phil and Jackie and Barry'; and then a Phil moment(!) when he couldn't get the vocals for Dark Star, mic problems who knows - and Bobby stepped up and nailed it!
Also I think having Barry Sless sitting on pedal from midnite on, relying all guitar solos mostly by Mark Karan - was a waste of talent. Let Barry pick up a guitar and play!
-------
During "Not Fade Way" I said to someone -"Moana" would have added some class as a nod to Bo Diddley who passed in 2008 - and I noticed they teased a 'Bo Diddley beat' in the end of NFA. That was nice.
All said -egos and band differences, also apparent with the band intros at the end, etc - I was surprised to be handed a "Dead Reunion 2009" flyer as I left. There's a lot of 'stuff' to be worked out between Bob and Phil -imho- to have a Dead reunion gel in 2009. We can only hope!
Bottomline: I liked the show on the 30th better- but as we all know New Year's is a bigger ordeal and the inevitable 10 piece band on stage for the midnite set is always a bit iffy. But we're all glad to Say Good Bye -to 2008!
"you introduce yer guys, i'll do mine"
lol'd at that
fucking ego driven bobby
lsd destropyed me ego . . why didn't it his ;)
B===D ~~~~
You can definately see the comfort zone Bob has established with his own band, and I have to admit the at a siding was right on and accurate as to how it is played on the album and how it should be played live. I was impressed...as well with the overall sound during the Ratdog. if anything, weir is carried by his band and allowed to stroke his ego, which watching him prance around like he is in charge is hilarious if not a cry. There is no way in the world jerry or brent would have put up with that crap back in the day. He might be the weakest link in his own band. But they sure know how to play together, when they are allowed to. I thought his band seriously stepped it up, or maybe the setlist chosen to be played was much easier on my ears nye. With a monster 'at a siding', almost reminding me of king solomons. When weir lost it, there was no imagining the lost and confused expression on his face. I thought at times Phil looked concerned about bob as well. Maybe he had too much too fast and just overplayed his part. I had serious doubts that Phil would play a tour with him let alone an encore. Again, weir was visibly shaken, and exhausted? I also thought the dude with the flag at the end was cracked out of his mind as well. Personally I liked Phils band maybe better than any other incarnation. Keep sless, jackie, molo and molitz, please. I would tour with that band anywhere. The phil set was unbelievable. If Weir has to be the one who sings all the songs he better get a teleprompter, especially as he attempts Jerry tunes. He butchered wharf rat and the end of SOTM went too far. Big suprise.
Wow. Thumbsup for the other tapers! You guys have been busy!
Weir has a teleprompter and still forgets lyrics.
well he is dyslexic
What 60 + / - year old does not have issues with eyesight and hearing..(..esp one that has been an Acid Rocker for 46 + / - of those 60 years..)..and memory..
Phil has had his share of teleprompter ineptitudes
so hard to think of Bobby as a 60 yr old.
but he is.
I'm not 60 but I still have plenty of remembering issues.
(((((Bobby))))))
It's all good folks...he's gonna be just fine!
Maybe he had a rough day shopping with his girls or something. Were they cute or what??
Gonna be just fine implies not fine at the moment..
If being hard of hearing seeing remembering were crimes a lot of us dinasores from the 60's be doing Life without Parole
I thought the Ratdog 12.31 Stream sounded real good..
Alzheimer's?
Here is a little post midnight fun to bring in 09'. Happy New Year Everybody! I hope this is the year all our dreams come true!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLET4UIb8rE&feature =channel_page
Can anyone please tell me what its like to play with Phil? He sounds amazing as does everyone else in his band.
^^^^^^^^"Did anyone catch Warren Haynes hanging out across the street from the venue last night post-show? I have NO IDEA what the hell he was doing out here, seeing as he had a show in NYC last night and one again tonight. But it was him, alright. Shaking hands and mingling, seemed like he was having a great time."
True story- I was up in the upper balcony area visiting with some friends during the Trio set last night.(Thought it was the best trio yet). I had seen that guy the night before also, and had remarked how he looked so much like Warren. He just gave me that "yeah, I hear it all the time" smile.
Well I was hang'n with some friends from LA(Cubensis fans of course) and that guy was sitting afew seats down the row. Said high and he remembered me from the night before(we kept running into each other out front after the show).
Anyway, I was trying out my new Voyager phone and checked out this thread. When I read the above post, I handed it over to him to read. Cracked him up too.
Here he is sitting at the show.
And when I saw him again after the show last night.
TapperRob, when do you get a chance to enjoy the show? You are an inspiration for sure.
Nice Job on the videos, Pete.
As for the show, the Music, and the croud, I thought it was amazingly fantastic.
Barry IS the Man. He played great both nights. Smoked!
I too wish he had been able to pick up his guitar during the last set instead of being relegated to just peda.
I liked Jackie the first time I saw him at their very first show in Santa Barbara. But watching/listenning to him take charge and tear it up durin "Sugaree", shows how far he has come. Damn, I hope he sticks around.
Would be a nice to See Phil, Barry, Jackie, Molo, and even Molitz, play a bunch more together. Molitz was out of his mind on Elevator. Never seen him so animated before. Really shined. Like to see Karan play with them too, if they don't harness Barry to his Pedal. Seemed there could have been some monster jams between those two.
All in all, a PHantastic two nights of music, meriment and friendship. So many Zoners and a surprising amount of Cubensis family(the band was playing at the Mint in Hollywood). Saw friends and got mutcho hugs everywhere I went.
Thanks to the Bands, the Production Folks(a lot of effort really paid off), and everyone there!!!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Great Terrapin Video!!!!!! Thanx Bill G. (Father Time), who began our psychedelic count-down, too. Now we have the Terrapin. Peace-Turtle...............And thanx also to : : ZEUS ....
the second tune in the Jackie set is called nothing comes from nothing
Thanks for the video!
Shot from a turtle's perspective, lol.
>>>>>>if anything, weir is carried by his band and allowed to stroke his ego, which watching him prance around like he is in charge is hilarious if not a cry. There is no way in the world jerry or brent would have put up with that crap back in the day
This may come as a shock to some of you 'Darkheads' out there weho grew up thinking Brent WAS the Grateful Dead in the late 80's, but Brent WORKED FOR Bob Weir.......
Brent was a hired hand for the Grateful Dead, of whom Bob Weir was one of the 5 members of the Board of Directors.....
Not to mention Brent was hired by the GD out of 'Bobby and the Midnights'.
I doubt VERY seriously Brent would be putting Bob in his place, lol....
(not to mention Brent's well documented insecurity problems within the band).
>>TapperRob, when do you get a chance to enjoy the show? You are an inspiration for sure.
from 1st note to last.....
the music is the inspiration and it flows thru me as they play.....
sobriety helps too; dont know how i did it, taping shows back in the day..... only to say that it was the music that kept me going back then also
>>>>the second tune in the Jackie set is called nothing comes from nothing
yeah I wish he woulda played "Love me Just a Little Baby ..." but he didn't.
What an amazing 2 nights of shows.
Bucky
Brent was not hired out of Bobby and the Midnites. In fact, Brent joined Weir in support of Weir's tour for his 1978 album Heavn Help The Fool--so he joined a few years before the Midnites were formed. Weir suggested Brent as aperson they try out to replace Kieth and there you have it

I saw one of the best Phil shows ever on 12/31/08, I can't believe it only lasted 75 minutes, I was hoping they were just taking a break or would at least come back for an encore. Barry Sless made Phil's band this night, I didn't know Larry would not be there, but I did know Barry was going to be there. You could see Phil walking toward Barry during the set when Barry was standing up playing his guitar, and in my mind they have a cosmic musical connection, I hope we see more of Barry in the future. I am going to Maui in January to see three of the David Nelson Band shows with Barry and Molo and Mookie and Pete Sears and David Nelson, after missing the Harvest Tour in the fall. It looks like The Dead are touring from the e-mail I got, just got home to Chico from SF. Canyon I saw you walking up at NYE at about 5pm, it was great to see you, and Rob I am also sober, and it makes a big difference! Thanks for the updates and kind words, this is acool little group we have here. Jacki Greene waqs great as was Phil, and actually that was the best I have ever seen Ratdog play, although they were a little loud for me, I was in balcony on wheelchair ramp. The midnight jam the sound really got worse for some reason, too trebly, and when you have that many people on stage, it can get weird as we saw. Barry couldn't even be heard, and as someone said earlier, what a waste of talent. All in all it was much better thatn three years ago, I got a disabled spot near venue, sold my extra for $65 walking in, and got a good seat, had great neighbors in the show, and saw lots of old friends, including Kyle Porter from Magalia and Tucker and Sabrina from Chicago area. THANKS PHIL, LOVE BRUCEEDWARDWEBER(EDDIEBOY)!!!!
Here is my synopsis of those two nights of music...
the 30th...
-Jackie's band- I would be happy to never hear them again. They were not horrible musicians, but just very boring to listen to
-Ratdog- A decent set, but not great as thy can be sometimes. In the first half of the set bobs guitar sounded very harsh. Bob seemed to be having trouble getting rhythmically in sync both with his guitar and vocals. There were some genuinely good parts though with Two Djin being the highlight for me (and the jam after was superb)
-Bob Phil and Jay- Pretty rough over all. There was some good jamming during peggy O, but there was an overall lack of cohesion
-Phil and Friends- A moderately good set. Nothing earth shaking. The jams in bird song were my favorite... very bird bone elvish.
All in all a middling night of music
The 31st...
-I showed up after Jackie's band was done, so no comment there
-Phil and Friends- I thought this was a pretty mediocre set with some good parts. The highlights for me were the wheel and elevator. It was disappointing not to see a great Phil set either night.
-Phil Bob Molo- Ahh.. this was the shit! IMHO this was the best part of either show. Bob and Phil played beautifully together. I was in tears. It was the first time since Jerry died that I felt like I was hearing the grateful dead live. I have heard a lot of great music over the years, but there was a quality in this music that just felt more profound than the rest. I remember thinking at the time that it felt like Phil and Bob were announcing their candidacy as a musical collaboration group (and lo and behold the dead tour announcement). The feeling I got was that Bob and Phil are interested in making music together again, but only if they can really play well together. I hope that they stick to that goal and try to avoid some of the mediocrity that has been present in much of the post Jerry dead stuff. Bob seemed much clearer this night than the previous.
-Ratdog- The clear and confident Bob came through in this set also. Rat dog played a very good set. Still not the best ratdog I have seen, but very good throughout... much better than Phil's set. At a siding was cool to hear.
-Post New Years Set- Pretty good over all. Not quite as solid as the Ratdog set, but good. I actually liked it when bob tried fro a redo on the bridge of wharf rat. In my opinion that bridge is the main event in that song. I really wanted to hear them do it well. Unfortunately, the second time around was shaky as well. For the record.. Jerry Garcia was known to do parts of songs over in the later part of the Grateful Dead's time. I distinctly remember a version of Days Between that was played at the Shoreline where they messed up the verse the has the line 'stood upon a mountain top', and jerry brought the whole band around to try it again. In Days between, that verse is where the big crescendo happens similar to the bridge in Wharf Rat. In both situations I was glad to see them try it over again, because I love those parts of the songs, and want to hear them in their full glory. I thought that Bob handled it well and seemed to approach the situation with good humor. I love Bob Weir and NYE was his night to shine.
I don't know, some great moments but overall this show just left me wanting more (not more hours of music, but more quality vs. quantity).
Phil set was inspired at times and not quite so inspired at others. Barry ripped it up, especially on Elevator, Slipknot and Eyes, but the "Don't Let Me Down" kind of did (let me down). Kind of set buzzkill at that point. Sometimes the abrupt change of musical styles and pace is just not a good thing, IMO. And a 2nd song Wheel just kind of lulls me to sleep (never been a huge fan of the song, despite its whole bubbly, sing-along nature). Still, a very good (very short), nearly excellent set that could've been epic with another hour of Barry shredding.
The trio had some really nice moments as well. The El Paso was nice, and the Tomorrow Never Knows and Dark Star -> Cassidy were really sweet, particularly Dark Star. Great to hear Bobby pulling off the old rhythms again in a setting in which they can truly be appreciated - especially on the electric. Maggie's Farm I could've easily lived without, but...
Ratdog set - had some good moments too, particularly the spot-on At a Siding -> Terrapin Flyer section. I was actually blown away by how well they pulled that off. Along with the Elevator in Phil's set, that was one of the night's highlights for me. I actually gained some respect for Jay Lane's drumming (with which I'm not all that familiar). I shouldn't even mention the Hard Rain's Gonna Fall (oh, guess I just did) -- fits in just so well between Playin' and Other One, doesn't it?
The midnight jam - well, not really a ton to mention on the positive side. I guess the fact that someone (uh, Bobby perhaps?) had to decide that Barry would best off shoved off to the side to play nothing but pedal steel kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know -- guess it had been the same deal at the Dead for Obama show at the Warf in February, so I probably should've just been ready for this. To me, a waste of Barry's skills (though certainly not knocking his fine steel playing).
The Wharf Rat gaffe - well, first off, when Wharf Rat is the 3rd song of a post midnight set on NYE, I've got problems with that right there. However, Bobby's apparent brain fart just shocked the shit out of me - I was actually busy trying to text my wife at that moment (shows my level of interest in the music at that point), so I didn't really catch the specifics of what transpired, but when a musician of Bobby's stature says something like "let's go back to do the 2nd verse again" in the middle of a song, I'm a bit blown away. Shit, I hardly even do that with my friends when we're jamming at a rehearsal studio. Everyone on stage seemed a bit stunned, and it definitely took them a while to recover steam. When Bob went and sat down during a tune (Good Lovin'?) and eventually left the stage, my buddy and I both thought perhaps something serious had occurred (exhaustion, heart issues, lead up to a stroke?) and were a bit shaken. Glad Bobby made it back fairly quickly and seemed to be OK for the most part. Then Phil seemed to miss part of the vocals on Scarlet (or was that me?), his vocal mic didn't work well enough that he had to ditch some of the verse of Dark Star (seeming a bit frustrated with the engineer). I was wondering if this set was destined to be one for the trash heap of history. However, with a good post-Wharf Rat save of Sugaree, a decent Scarlet and a fine save of (an even somewhat sublime) Dark Star, they managed to salvage a less-than-mindblowing set (I'm sorry, but the song selection of playing Good Lovin' after that Wharf Rat really left me wondering). Seemed like it was Bobby's set all the way, and is that really much of a surprise. Think Phil may be too much of a pushover in these situations. How about a fuckin' raging Cream Puff War or New Potato Caboose or something!!
Overall, I had some great moments, some good ones, and some less-than-inspired ones. Guess it was better than the '05 P&F with Ryan show, but certainly not up to snuff with those from early in the 2000s. Certainly was entertaining.
This was my first time in SF...I had a GREAT time both nights. Thank You to all the wonderful musicians, for there stellar perfomances. And also thanks to all the gracious, friendly, and fun people of SF..what a Great city. I bring home with me alot of fond memories. I cant wait till next NYE. Happy New Year to all..God Bless
All I can say is how nice it is to finally hear Sless rip it up. He just laid it out in the Phil & Friends set... Eyes through Franklin's was just incredible.. It's been YEARS since such liquid notes have danced through the music!
I really wish he was the sole guitar player for the Dead 2009 tour....
Agreed, Johnny!
bgcc is the worst venue for sound in s.f. i think peoples experiences for these shows depended on where they were in the venue.
i had front row balcony dead center on the 30th, and front row balcony just off center on the 31st-and i thought the shows were a lots of fun, sounded good, and overall i had a blast.
did anyone notice anyone smoking anything funny inside either night?
i thought i smelled some things at some points..
NYE was just a magical show for my family and I. We took the kids (10 and 8) for their first shows and it was the best possible introduction. Thanks to our new friend Eric for giving us great seats. Nothing like random acts of kindness to start a new year right. My kids danced until way past midnight. Loved all of the sets and am looking forward to the Spring tour.

Yeah, I did notice something weird right as the show was starting, and I was down on the floor about 10 yards in front of the soundboard area. Smelled like some odd chemicals, but I don't think it was something being smoked -- least I certainly hope it wasn't for the sake of the smoker. Maybe it's a new Wookie cologne.
As for the sound issue - good sound, bad sound -- if a show sucks, it doesn't really matter where the hell one's standing, IMO. Might make the difference between very good and excellent, but I don't think Bobby's Wharf Rat gaffe would've been any less embarrassing if I'd been in the rafters.
I was in the rafters during that part of the show and unfortunately I heard it loud and clear.
At the "last" Warfield show, I was surrounded by a group smoking DMT. Smelled like paint being smoked. They had it rolled into their joints. It is a noxious smell that gave me a headache just being near it. They offered me a hit, but luckily told me what was in it first. I passed. That shit is nasty! Might have been what you smelled.
When you smoke real DMT, you lose all muscle control and halucinate(understatement) and drool, for up to half an hour. Not really condusive to the concert scene. Maybe in real small amounts it is different.
I loved the shows but felt Barry and Mark Karan should have been turned up.
I can attest to the DMT section at the Warfield in May. They passed it to me during Wharf Rat...time stopped, at the exact spot in the song where Bobby screwed it up on 12/31. Coincidence?
yeah
that was the second most omnipressent dmt haze i have ever seen
next to the oregon country fair. and really they should not even be in the same cannon.
that shit was inpure. orange waxy blegh im sure
i heard several handfuls of people comenting on that the night of the 30th
takes all kinds i guess. i could never imagine doing THAT there
i noticed huge nebulous clouds of dmt smoke during the whole show on the 30th. coming from the left side of the stageish.
that shit smelled horibly inpure. damn lot kids and there shityorange spice.
whats more i heard so many people talking about it. old folks. and young folks. people who knew what it was and those who did not.
it was pretty damn omnipressent.
whoops double post. but worth it
I am glad that I did not smell that DMT shit. I would be pissed if I got passed a J of DMT, and I took a hit, thinking it was good ol' marijuana. I wouldn't be happy to even be near it.
The description of burning paint odor reminds me of what PCP / Angel Dust smelled like back in the 80s when it was around. I hope that poison is not making a comeback.
In 1971 a "friend" passed me a j that, unbeknownst to me, was laced w/ PCP. Right after I took my only hit my mom came home and wanted me to do an errand in her car. I couldn't come up with an excuse for not doing it, so I had to go. It was getting dark and I got flashed (hi-beams) by a cop who noticed I didn't have my lights on - the only time I've ever done that.
Interesting ride, but once was once too much.
This DMT/PCP discussion just points to one thing: The continued dumbing of America. You'd think that with the potency of weed as high as it apparently is, folks would just stick with that.
Far be it from me to tell someone how to get their high, but smoking that crap seems a completely idiotic move.
As for someone passing on a laced joint and not telling the recipient, well, that's just plain sick and the sign of a real a--hole.
Nice history lesson, Bucky. Say what you will, you can't hide the obvious truth. Why don't you come out and say that Bob Weir sings songs the way he used to. That way we could all believe you. Listen to Phil sing on Scarlet... " from the other direction, HE was calling my eye, Had to learn the hard way, to let HIM pass bye. Tell me that had nothing to do with Weir's behavior leading up to that moment...not to mention Weir getting right in Phil's face as to almost want to mess his concentration up. I'd like to see any video of Weir doing that when Jerry was alive, stepping right up in the face of either Jerry or Brent while they tried to sing the song. Phil is a pushover in these situations, as another poster indicated. But what was anyone to do when the "leader" of the NYE band takes an abrubt break in the middle of the heavy part of the jam. Anyone who was close enough to see the look on Weir's face can not deny that there was something wrong. And apparently he went and 'fixed' the problem. Take your easy answers to the bank as you are clearly always right.(along with your "facts" about Brent kissing Bobs ass.)
I hate to say it but you don't know Why Bobby went up to Phil or why Phil sang He and Him you're speculating on both points. Bobby and Phil gave an interview at the end of the show and Bob said he left the stage cause it sounded like too many musicians with too much to say. The Wharf Rat died when the two bands which don't play together on a regular basis suddenly lost their way. Thankfully Bobby took the initiative and got the band back on track so they could play the song. Not to mention that before Bobby left the stage other band members were walking in and out of the set. It was a huge loose jam with too many musicians, keep the expectations low!
And the revisionist history that suddenly Brent was a very demonstrative person instead of the insecure heroin addict he was is very funny.
But look some folks will look for any reason to slam Bob Weir if they can. I loved New Years I thought there were some very nice musical moments from all the different musical lineups. Were there some shit moments? Sure, but I lived through plenty of shit moments with the Grateful Dead. C'est l'vie!!
Wow, now I know why I ended up in RocMed getting my eyes flushed out twice on 12/31 ! Jeez, we have the strongest weed on earth here in San Francisco. Why would people do this? I'm just glkad I got out of Roc Med quickly before they brought in some bloody guy.
Happy New Year Everyone !
Howie
Ha! If you don't know, you don't know. Phil-bump to "steve s (Muzzard67)"
P.S. Did anyone buy the live cd's they were selling of these nights? I was too strapped to pick them up but sure would love to work something out...
If anything I am defending Brent, at this point. I guess we are all speculating. Happy New Year!
