WOW thanx for the reviews & pics. I hope to do a DNB Hawaii run some day. The music must've been tremendous. Looks like a good time for sure. When DNB gets back to the bay area, I am going to a few shows. I saw a show on Harvest tour and want more. They are the real deal.

and last time I saw Vince Herman was with Leftover Salmon, and his hair wasn't gray. that is too long. I like that guy's fun stompin' energy. good shit!

EZE *Steps* back on the bus. David Nelson Band challenging my assumptions about music, redefining perceptions.

MUCH MAUI LOVE to doogs, dan, and all my philzone peeps. Boomberang love filling my cup and running it over. This time it's EZE comin' around in a full circle. Next year it will be doogels to make the trip - mark my stony words.

New friends, old friends, coming together for the music. I'm feeling a major coming out of the closet for hippies this year with the dead a phish tours. Lots of opportunities not to miss.

On to the review: Stella Blues is a little restaraunt/bar tucked away in a mall in kihea. The band is in the back room and they have the show on monitors in the restaraunt.

Vince warms the crowd up with a few solo acoustic numbers, with mookie and barry filling in. The room is overflowing with excitement. Great psychedelic light show projected on a variety of huge tie-dies.

The second set really got my attention, with pete pretty much taking control and laying down pfat chops. Barry moves from steel petal to guitar and really nails the tone, as usual. Molo has wonderful timing and pushes the band. David is smiling headband to headband. Friggin awesome

Sitting in limbo was bouncy fun, and stella blues really shined. Ripple really got that good time feeling going to send people home happy. I was suprised and delighted by this band all night.

Tonight we wrap up the music at Charleys in Paia. Even the band must be pleased with the turnout, and it really has created the perfect backdrop. Maui is a very special place to make the sacred music. MA-HA-LO

Old-school good-timey vibe for the first set. One of the best sets I've seen in years. Vince really *smoked* all night.
Mind-Blowing second set. Box of Rain sends us off into the maui breeze with phat smiles.

Fantastic night. So-so venue. Great friends, great music. Cold rain sent my dear friend erik over the rainbow. Took him way back to the day.

And for this band, boy am I a believer after this run. Generous with their time and space, classy gentlemen and damn fine musicians. Ma-halo fellas.

Looking back, I would have to say the pool party was my favorite of the run. The music went on forever and the good times never seemed to end.
