What a great show last night. The best Todd show I've seen and I've seen him 5 times. He was definitely on top of his game. 90 minutes. $16 plus $5 ticket fee. Nice little theatre in Murray, a suburb of SLC.
I don't know all his titles (?), but the setlist included a couple of new ones plus:
Fortunate Son, Tillamook County Jail, Just Like Old Times, The Devil You Know, DB Cooper, Stuck On A Corner(?), My Generation (Part 2), The Ballad of The Kingsmen, Long Year, Iron Mike's Main Man's Last Request (with some new banter), Train Song, Double Wide Blues(?), Tension, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Conservative Christian...(partial standing ovation here in Utah with the sanctimonius mormon assholes in the legislature in session), Good Fortune(?), Beer Run, Life's Too Short(?).
He did about 45 minutes of what he wanted to do then took requests from the audience for the rest of the show. At least that's what he said. Who could tell with all the people yelling.
If he's near you, I'd suggest you make the effort to see him. I've never seen him better. He's selling his new album "Peace Queer" for $10 and other merch includes "Peace Queer" posters and tie-dye peace sign shirts.
GREAT NEWS - I talked to a guy traveling with Todd who was taping through the board onto a HD. I talked to him about a copy and he said Todd's been talking about making this tour and the shows from his fall tour available for free download. Wouldn't THAT be sweet? Don't know if that'll happen, but I'll be sending this guy a Sam Bush show and the Wilders show I vined along with some discs BnP style and I'll be hoping for the best.
Something new and strange to me - the theatre staff said "If you wanna go outside for intermission, you need to buy a wristband for $2". Huh? Anyone else ever hear of such a thing? It's a new concept to me.
I just heard of him a couple months ago.. saw him on YouTube singing in a hotel room about the baseball pitcher that pitched a no-hitter on LSD (that's supposedly a true story).
anyways he's pretty cool.. and that $2 thing is funny. They are charging people $2 if they wanna get high ?
Hey Slick, my buddy Skin got that Salk Lake show recorded. I hope to have it on etree next week.
peace.
Got a SBD of the SLC show but the guitar is WAY low out of the mix and they start in the middle of the second tune. I'll go with the Chicago and Boulder recordings.
