..
looks great on paper
thanks taper rob
listening now
Looks good on paper, is correct...Listening to Fri nights show...sounds great also.
Kick ass 1st note to last! The whole show was a highlight for me. Crazy=>Hollow was soooooo sweet. Was that their 1st Dark Hollow? Throwin' Stones really took off. I thought Terrapin was off the charts, esp. At A Siding, etc., which was most rippin' version I've heard. Bobby's been tearing up the vocals on Death Don't, with the band scorching behind.
Songs were great. sound was excellent. Lights were hot. Band was ON!
One More Night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there was also a full on Blues for Allah dropped into the Terrapin Suite...
show cut short due to some big assed poster signing but they're bringing it for sure!
oh boy!!!!
A lovely time was had by all. Bobby OWNS "Death Don't..."
It sounded great on paper, at least on the paper I brought! ;-)
quote:looks great on paper
these shows so far are out of control, tighter than the Nov/Dec run played with driving force, direction, and wow!
thanks for the updates !!
yo
Phil, please play Blues for Allah tonight. Thanks!
funny, crazy rancher dude, i get it!
Stream? I need one tonight last night was a drag. rsoxwin@comast.net
13th show started? Anyone?
Loser and Bird Song again? Someone was high on Theraflu...
Crunchy + seamless.
First set was a crusher...but wait, the second set is coming.
Second set: " Shakedown", "Viola Lee Blues", "Birdsong", "Other One", "Terrapin Suite" w/ an Arabic flavor. Blew the doors off with "Death Don't Have No Mercy"
Grade A+
a great follow up to the previous night...i think everybody walked into this show riding high on the waves of energy that were crashing around all over town...truckin opener sounds kind of cliche, maybe it is, either way, a phenomenal version--with a solid outro jam that finally finds its way into a melting crazy fingers, the best version i've seen furthur perform of that song. i was not quite sure where the jam was going to take us after this, it almost sounded like a way too uptempo peggy o, and then they hit the key change. it was still a little shaky but found its way into a monumental debut from furthur...dark hollow.. it turned into a pretty good version not spectacular by any means. i personally think that is quite an intriguing choice from the vault, one that no one expected. next up ramble on rose. GREAT version, excellent playing by JK and jeff...they seem to have taken a step in the direction where jerry and brent were at musically together, and there is a ton of room to explore..seven hills of gold sounded like a song that could have been in their repertoire for years. the best version i've seen them do of it. bob was doing a lot of conducting on stage. you can see and hear how muh it has developed. i really liked the transition into cold rain and snow, came up very quick and re-energized the crowd who got lost in the new tune...throwin stones was one i personally wanted to hear, and it was a meaningful rendition..right as i thought our set was closing phil cranks out the line for lovelight and the place is bopping. bobby's rhythm playing is spot on for this. he was on the entire night. second set opens with a very neat jam that could have really gone anywhere, i was thinking dancin in the streets. great shakedown complete with disco balls, and those funny bird balloon things. anyone else notice those?the peacock in the back of the arena?? hahahah i LOVEDhow they ended shakedown with the opening note to viola is it a B7? or flat? idk ill check later, anyways it sounded off key but in the grand scheme was a genious note to segue into a rocking viola that really gets explored. phil plays the opening notes to bird song and we lift off. we are invited to groove through webs of time and space, though only for a short while before we are brough back, followed by a what seemed to be short other one. the following terrapin was good, lots of new areas searched and boundaries enlarged...but bob just grabs the audience by the collar during DDHNM. a heart wrenching version, you could see it throughout the crowd. the fantasy>jude combo had folks jumpin, a treat for the west coasters who were not out east for the first version of that. saturday night to close the set was a great choice. i like the song but hate to see it burned as an encore every saturday, and that was the first time in a VERY long time perhaps even 12/12/09 (not positive) it was usedfor something other than encore. (firs set closer that night)so really i got the best of bth worlds with a great saturday night to jack everyone up and a PHENOMENAL attics to soothe everyone.
this was my 40th furthur show and a darn good time...had us thinking..tomorrow is going to be out of control...hehehe
Thanks for the review William. 40 shows already! True fan. The three Broomfield shows were all great and the band is really playing at a high level. Thank you Furthur! March is going to be wild. I read somewhere that Furthur is hoping to realize the energy of the early Dead and hence the smaller venues. I hope to be at over 40 shows by the end of this next tour.
