Another wonderful day, although the weather was strange, at the Nelson Family Vineyards. Due to the odd September rain our Sunday social and potluck was moved indoors. A very fine spread of food was brought to share and some great looking pizza for sale outside.
as for the music, just incredible! I've run out of ways to describe this band, just 5 top players playing with love, a true joy to get to watch.
The crowd was in great spirits, with smiles all around and the fire dancer was awe inspiring, I spent the last part of the show watching the kids watch the fire dancer, the look of wonder in their eyes makes life worth living, fun!!
Thank you David Nelson and all that sail!!

Oh and I thought it was way classy to bring up the 2 young guys from BCBCSB to come up and play a solo each on Dark Hollow.
Nice review Canyon.......here's a couple pics:

Phenomenal show last night... a rockin' Rocky Road opener, and they were off and running. A poignant Dark Hollow, and a very strong sequence to close the first set. Second set just blew the roof & doors off the ol' barn. Great to share such a magical afternoon and evening with so many familiar smiling faces!
Before DNB came on, MarkD & I walked over to the redwood grove where the show would have occurred if the weather had cooperated... it was the sweetest setting, I tell ya... big redwoods, totally shaded, hay bales, picnic tables, killer vineyard vista. Nelson plays the coolest venues!
God bless the tapers!

damn, that's a fast turnaround!
This is probaly a dumb question, but... Was that The Police song "Message in a Bottle", or an original, or an old folk tune?
I believe its a old folk song, definitely not the Police tune.
Thanks for the review and pictures.
I don't have anything else to add, except it is always fun seeing shows with such kind folks.
A great time had!
Message In A Bottle is another new Hunter/Nelson tune, the NRPS have played it a few times.
There was a fire-dancer, how'd we miss that?
It really was a smoking-show!
Canyon, did you do the art on the poster? Looks great
I didn't see a merch table either. I need one of those batik shirts
Nice reviews - and thanks for the AWESOME pictures!
Thanks Canyon and Budboy, looks like a fun time, see you in November, and Canyon I will see you on Friday, love Bruce!
yeah, thanks everyone. This was a sweet day and great show despite the weird weather. This audience is as good as it gets...
Love this. Always.
