Long list of musicians that could play well with this iteration...watching ACL makes me realize Lyle Lovett (last show in the studio ever) should be on there - he could definitely add magic to so much, esp the cowboy songs.

Also, why do they always say "Keep Austin Weird"? Shouldn't it say "Texas is weird - keep Austin normal"? Texas is one strange place (save Willie n Stevie Ray's spirit).....

It is so cool to couch tour each night! As of now there looks like there are almost 1,550 of us "at" the show tonight. I try not to look at the set lists and go right to the stream- the stream Taperrob takes the time to set us up with in addition to preserving and sharing the music.

I like the option of being able to choose when to watch the ad. I didn't notice this at first. I was introduced to ads being in the steam when it brutalized a fantastic solo right at the height of the jam. I usually notice the OR WATCH NOW option at about the 9 minute mark. To make a game of it I then begin to start thinking strategically on when to view the ad. Can I make it through this whole song? The goal is to ideally choose to watch it between songs or at a near pause transitions.Even though no music is lost b/c of the ads it can affect my listening experience until I can scratch up enough extra dough to go premium.

Just a question for TR can you post the stream in a separate thread with no setlist updates so when everyone listens to it they have no idea what is next. I really like not knowing what is coming next. TR you are one of the most styliest dudes I don't know.

Sitting at the show last night I turned to my husband and said, "I'd almost rather be at home listening to the stream than hearing all this talking going on around us." Strange thing for me to think, but Rob's quality is so good and the chatter level is so high...

I can't stand when people talk during the music,it annoys the hell out of me! Why can't they wait to talk between songs? It is really bad in the SF Bay Area. I hope this doesn't happen at Monterey,but if it does,I am going to ask them to keep it down,because I can't hear the music,and I didn't pay money to listen to your problems. The thing I learned from being a deadhead was respect your neighbor at the show,and don't make your neighbor uptight or unhappy by anything you are doing at the show. Sometimes people want to talk over the music. I can understand some quiet talking,I don't expect everyone to be mute,but it is almost like they want to be the show,and can't stand all the energy being focused on the band. The show is the show,not you! End of rant,have a great one tonight everyone,love eddieboy!

I'll admit I was most focused on Phil's playing and I thought it was stellar.......thick chunky bombs !!! It's a pleasure to hear him play.

I wonder whether that Sharpie covers Playin reprise?...perhaps we will hear this tonight to close the show....

playin > crazy fingers; set the stage for a second set type of first set perfromance, the from crazy fingers it was effortless through brwon eyed one nice flow. tom thumb blues is as good as it gets, and then the catfish john which we heard like 5 times during sound check, the show version seemed a little cut short but still quite nice, casey jones rocked

jack straw, bertha was super nice, my first furthur jack straw and it delivered. a searing estimated, ive heard allot of boring estimated's - not this one and then > dark star, but an amaizingly uptempo dark star which winded down into a throw back caution > 11 > eyes...and then like every furthur show i have seen you all of a sudden had this great stretch of music from estimated through eyes...but still black peter and china > rider...sat nite is classic party rock

i fall asleep that night hearing the train whistle from the eugene rails and think about casey jones...mabye no playin reprise because they went 3 mins over

stayed at the same hotel as the band - ran into JK in the elevator...all i could mutter was a "hows it going" - to which he responded with "going good"....

First set had it's moments--Crazy Fingers, Tom Thumb's

It also had the worst Throwin' Stones I've ever heard--pure stinking shit pile.

2nd set rocked and I was on fire from Dark Star to the end!
