I remember going to the Aladdin Theater shows in 1981 and 1983. I think both 2nd sets opened with Scarlet Fire. 1984 had a China Cat Rider 2nd set opener. We used to stay at the hotel and have Mr. Jack Straw paged over the p.a. to the white courtesy phone please, made us stupid college kids laugh every time. The outdoor shows at the Silver Bowl were great too, seemed like it was always 100 degrees. even in the rain and lightning. Opening acts out there were Santana, Steve Miller Band, Sting, and Dave Matthews Band. We met Sting after the last night in Caesar's Palace, I asked him how he liked playing in front of the Dead crowd, he said it was "brilliant" and he enjoyed the experience very much. So did we. I went to last year's Las Vegas Furthur show, stood at the rail, music and energy was awesome. Have a blast tonight friends, see you all at the Greek tomorrow and Thursday.

The first two times I saw "China Cat Sunflower" (July, Oct. 2010) John sang the whole thing...when did they switch it to the verse-tradeoff deal they do with many other songs? It works with Touch of Grey, He's Gone (to an extent), not so much with CCS.

After seeing the GD for many years, I have seen Furthur from December of 2009 through July 2011, from the northeast to Colorado and all the way down to Florida.

WOW! The Furthur show from Las Vegas has just finished. It's 3am on the East Coast and now, how ironic, we go right into 6/11/92 Albany, NY, a show which I was at. I am very much looking forward to seeing Furthur back on the east coast. A quick shout out to all my friends that I have seen on tour recently - Mike, Carl, Angie, Travis, Scott, Fred, and Sundance.

this show was a MONSTER OMG i don't know how it sounded from the sirius feed but they were so on tonight. yeah, Bobby had some major flubs, like when he sang the opening line to Maggies Farm he sang "I was boooooorn" thinking he was singing mingelwood again , which by the way I asked for and I got along with my Stella which was just magical. I know it's been the theme but the 2nd set was just a MONSTER...the Viola Lee sandwich was delicious, man Why Dont We Do it on the Road I heard driving over from Cali and thought we doesn't Further do this and Bam, just what we get...amazing. The Dylan covers were awesome, Like a Rolling Stone had the Joint jumpin with everyone in the house chiming in and really groovin....China Doll, Weather Report Suite and Let is Grow were all superb, JK was shredding all night and everyone was really tuned....Phil had a shit eating grin all night, Bobby was way more focused and hit chops were good 2nd set..the Scarlet>Fire, particularly the Fire was outrageous...just off the chain...in the fucking ZONE...actually the entire second set was so clean and crisp ...the place was grooving...Liberty encore was a sweet send off...all and all an amazing show...this band keeps delivering...saw all 3 rocks shows last year, plus Eugene, Nateva, Coney Island, this rates up there better than all those i think for the 2nd set...you can't go wrong with a Stella, WRS, Viola, Scarlet>Fire in one set. Doesn't get much better. Go on home your mama's callin you....makes me want to head to LA. See you in Monterey. PeAceOut.
