Can anyone tell me if this is the exact same spot at the fairgrounds where Monterey Pop Fest was held?
Regardless, you know how Jerry used to say they use to blow it at the 'big shows'. I can also recall he said he thought they weren't up to snuff at Monterey, so it could be a night of redemption. Regardless I expect these to be the highlights of the tour.

The music is in the air. There in spirit if not physically. (A stream would help!) Have a great show all!

the band sounds hot tonight, just nailing everything. Phil is a frickin Monster, he justs keeps getting better and better. He is at the TOP of his game right now. That playing in the band was so hot, Phil Lesh is amazing he keeps getting better and better, and faster, and more precise with his licks. I would have to go back to like 74 to get this level of playing from Phil!!!

phil is just dropping bombs i cant get over how good his playing has gotten. Its like every couple months he steps up to another level. Since playing with John he has taken it to levels unheard of. Darkstar>caution , listen to that Phil bass line. Its like 3 people playing the Bass.

Hot show. So special. So happy to have made it. Each song seemed more special than the next. What a great old venue. Just look at that setlist! They're so good right now and came reddy to play. This next (last) show will be amazing.

Yay Monterey!

Had a fun time hanging in line with friends and dancing upclose. Good to see friends who I haven't seen a while.

I though the show was ho hum but good. Bobby flubbed a few times and some of the jams just dissapreared and ended. Alot of wiered timing. Can't wait to see more friends Saturday.

Off to play Disk Golf at the Cal State Monterey campus.

Highlights for me were Easy Wind and Mason's. While Phil and Bobby both sound fantastic, it was most cooking when JK was LOUD! I was on John's side first set, Jeff's 2nd set and that was my biggest impression - more John...louder and crisper in the mix, please! There should be a "Turn JK Up" push, like "Let Phil Sing" back in the 80's!

Total agreement with turning John up! I've heard/read people dis him for being too structured/"safe" and not pushing the limits like Jerry, but belive me HE CAN. No doubt he's playing it safe to an extent, but I think that's somewhat of a deference thing, just seems to me he's afraid of pushing the "old" guys. I probably have it wrong, but it just seems that way to me. And if you listen to any of the DSO stuff, ya'll immediately recognize his ability to push the limits to near train wrecks and then pull it all back in. He rocks...TURN JK UP!

A very trippy show! I was outside when they started Promised Land, but got in quickly and went up front on Phil's side in bleachers/stands! Was hanging out with my buddy Lance from the Philzone, and we had a rocking good time! Mason's Children jam WENT OUT THERE! They they close with Mighty Quinn! I was dancing the whole show,on my feet, and that is hard for me because I am disabled, but THE MUSIC JUST KEPT ME GOING! It was the best Estimated I have ever seen this band do,and the Deal was a welcome rockin' surprise! Playin>Dark Star>Caution>Dark Star was really trippy, and it took King Solomon's Marbles to bring us back to earth and rockin' again! Dear Prudence was really good, and Sunshine really shined on background vocals on this one! Unbroken Chain took me up to this higher level of trippy consciuosness and trance, then they brought me back down to earth with Not Fade Away! Touch of Grey was a great encore, and off into the Monterey night we went! WE GONNA PREACHER WANG DANG DOODLE ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!!Love Eddieboy,THANKS FURTHUR!!!!!!!!!
