The last few stops in Columbus have been musical treats........hope tonight is the same! I am stoked these guys still bring it every night!
Promised Land opener!?!?!
I'm calling a Feel Like A Stranger > Mississippi Half Step opening...(whatever the list...they're gonna bring it!)
It blows my mind how rigorous of a tour these guys are puttin on despite their age. goin from albany to columbus after that run they just did with I think only one night off in between there. I love it and hats off to them. that bein said hopin for a stream for this couch potato.
Dave_Mcgrath said: Adam, just heard the "my dog has no nose" joke today on a recording of Saratoga 85 show that I was at where the band members were yelling at someone hanging from a balcony.
I have uploaded that file here:

Have a GREAT time at the show tonight, Dave!!
Good call Dave! Stranger and Half-Step are indeed way overdue in the rotation, as are Dancin' in the Streets, Golden Road, Althea, and Black-Throated (my other calls for tonight).
Would also really like to be treated to an extraplanetary Mountains of the Moon. Also, a soulful ballad along the lines of Comes A Time or To Lay Me Down (did you get that, Jill?).
See ya at the Schott tonight!
Last show in C'bus was on July 3 that co-incided with fireworks in set 2. Highlight was KSM........that baby is overdue too I think.
How about Visions of Johanna..........has Furthur played that before??
Thanks Adam.
On my way....Checking it out and taking it furthur....taking it further and checking it out.
Last nights show was awesome. What a treat to be able to join you all in space through the stream. Blessed are the streamers and streamees.
Truckin into Columbus, steam in hand, livin the D E A D life, ain't life grand?

Real tough sitting in the back of a $500.000 tour bus sleeping or flying from Albany to Columbus while somebody else drives your bus.
Pride of Cocamonga and Two Dijin tonight
Sitting in the lot. Pretty chilly. It's gonna get pretty hot inside though.

I'm hoping for an acoustic set during their next tour. Last acoustic set I saw was PL&F Camden maybe '06 or '07. It was great and Furthur would nail it! Can we get a petition or something? How do we get this thing to happen?

Any stream by chance for tonight? Is that done in Ohio?
nothing yet.
the show last year was July 2nd, not July 3rd. The fireworks thing was for the 4th being celebrated. Apparently it's the biggest in the nation. I thought it was lame because the crowd started watching the fireworks while Furthur was tearing into King Solomon's. They played Two Djinn last time so I doubt they'll do it again - especially since Ace nailed it. It was a very good show except the talkative crowd

NOT Cool. Was a tasty stream. Come BACK!
ramble on rose
Listened to set2 of 2010-06-30 yesterday and then again today. Love the oddball set. Did it flow like lava? No, but I'm cool with that. I like the out of the ordinary setlists. If they struggle through some of the transitions, I'm all for it. It's a small price to pay. I've heard China>Rider plenty. I've heard Help>Slip>Frank plenty. A China>Colors>Slipknot>TOO>The Eleven>Fire>Wheel??? Why would you want the road often traveled when you're invited along for that exploration? I say "go for the transmigration!" and "Conventions be damned!" I hope this isn't a thing of the past. PL&F spoiled me, and then Furthur picked up that torch. It's a beautiful thing to behold. I'm not ready (or wanting) to go back.
Rip Van Snoozle in Albany...no doubt.
why bother rescheduling a show if you just phone it in and lay bricks all night?
Is anyone getting that second stream link to work? Any clues? Thanks.
nope :/ i regret posting it now, and getting all the hopes up.

cowboy set...nice
Buck Muligan....I have to assume you were not at the Albany show last night....been on the bus since 1970 and last night Furthur delivered the goods....def, a very laid back start but the 2nd set was as good as it gets....sure sure this is psychedelic music which by its nature is very subjective but come on....an entire cryptical other one AND a return to cryptica, just to name a groove which permeated the entire set. Seriously, were you there?

Everybody's gonna wanna dozzzzze.....!!
I was in Albany last night. The Second Set was all there. I enjoyed Here Comes Sunshine, Magnolia Mountain, and the last three songs in the first set. Uh I had a good time, and luved the energy that the band brought to music.

I wholeheartedly concur!!
anyone know why none of the streams are working?
ohhhh, there's that Cumbie !! seems it totally missed me this tour, used to follow me every tour. Well something to be said for transitioning, as that is also parallel as applied to my life right now too....
Hope whomever needed it, got it tonight. I don't think any Cumberland ( even from back in the day) will top my MSG Sun nite one...it was the freakist, tweakiest one ever !!
thanks for updates all ~
second set to start soon , how about our miracle stream?
Good question Addie. I hope one picks up during the second set.

in Amherst, i thought it would NEVER end...it truly was painful....for me ! plus i was stuck on the floor with no exits there, had to trekk up a zillion steps to escape...so i put my earplugs in and sat like a nice girl till over..lol !
how bout got my mojo workin
yessssssssssssss
I think they do Lost Sailor well... full of awesome lead guitar parts which John naturally plays to perfection.
maybe vince, but i really do not like bobbys vocals...and that nite he sounded like he was howwwwlin at the moon, and not serenading it...lol ! just my opinion tho ~ this is music aside, strictly vocals ! but i am not nor never was a fan of those two songs...ever.

wow, what a great show you Ohioites. Sweet! First scarlet>fire of the tour. And 8 Jerry songs in a row to boot. Wish I was there. I am seriously thinking of flying out to NYE this year from CT. We did it in the 90s, we'll do it again. I think this band is finally starting to reach a heightened level of performance. The Boadwalk Hall show was one of the best I have seen as was Amhearst. At this point in my career as a Deadhead I have seen post Jerry line ups more than the Grateful Dead which I still managed to see 70 times until at my ripe age of 25 Jerry died. It was tiime to move home from CA and get a job in NYC. So that's what I did.
What has been so magical about the post Jerry Grateful Dead experience is that I have been able to hear and slather myself in, Grateful Dead tunes that were a million to one '87-'95 which was my Dead era. To hear Bob and Phil play a Viola, Cream Puff, St Stephen or Alligator is only dripping wet fantasy to my Dead head peers. A message to the band: I know you have others from the mid sixties that are dying to come out. We know about sets like:
In the Pines>Hey little one>Mind bender>Long Black Limousine>silver Threads and Golden Needles, SING ME BACK HOME! These are songs I have yet to hear and would be a real treat to catch them.
Dance to the sky and melt with the moon...CF
Was that High Time a break out? Need reports on that one
That was not a High Time break out, but I believe the first one this tour...
Are there any known recordings (other than the broken stream from bobbyweirdo)? I will look on the archive.
nice review Crazy Fingers, thanks.
I had a catastrophe occur right before the show...It was a really serious matter- thankfully I was able to get out of the situation. Once I got to the show I had a few beers and began to relax a bit.
Everything ended up being ok, but I think I lost a few years of my life right before the show.
The show was great. It wasn't the setlist I would have designed per se', but they played so well it didn't matter.
Black Throated Wind was awesome. There were some great jams in the second set.
My wife had a great time and hopes they come back soon.
Red Roof Inn treated us well.
I wholeheartedly agree that the post G.D music and mind-blowing song selection has been a magical time,!truly epic shows by all of the friends.I know I def appreciate the music much more. It won't last forever and neither will I. !
Had a truly grateful time at the show. Transported back in time yet more importantly took it furthur. Finally found the Lost Sailor that eluded me all these years...(still waiting for the St. Stephen though). Really loved the first set. Deal opener caught me totally by surprise. Lots of rare tunes in first set. Easy Wind was a first for me too. The heart of the second set (He's Gone though Black Pete) was truly classic yet at the same time currently pushing the music to new heights. It was so awesome...I thought I wouldn't ever experience that sweet zone live again and yet there I was...and there it was... Grateful indeed. wow. The raw energy and the craftsmanship
of every musician is totally superb. Raleigh this summer was the bus stop for me to jump back on for an encore ride, but
Wednesday's show indoors brought it all back and then even
furthur more. Wonderful neighbors around me. Beautiful spot for sight and sound. I found myself going from totally shaking every bone in my body (inset Cumberland Blues here) to having to sit and just watch almost mesmerized what
everyone was doing on stage with their instruments. I love
this heart of gold band ...ever single part of it. The night was as awesome and as beautiful as the evening's amazing sunset over the Ohio State campus. We have so much to be thankful for in our lives and a night with Furthur was one
more small blessing in the big picture. The wheel is still turning. Be grateful. I know that I am.
Oh yeah, can't wait to hear that totally totally awesome jam that came before the Scarlet > Fire again...hope someone puts the show on Archive.
Here's Dave's sunset over Ohio State - I got out of the car at 5.30, took a bunch of photos and thought 'Fire' tonight ... http://lefthandmonkeywrench.tumblr.com/
A great show, especially Cumberland, Scarlet>Fire and a truly gripping Eyes, when I though Jeff was about to morph in to Cecil Taylor.
I enjoyed your photo blog David Kay. Thanks for the posting of the picture.
No shows posted yet on archive - there must have been some tapers there?
I think I saw three microphone stands.
This was my only show to attend on this tour. I was very impressed. The MVP Award goes to Jeff Chimenti, who was allowed to showcase his talents throughout the show. Jeff is a real jewel in this band and this is the first show I have attended where he was really featured. I thought the set list was great and everything was well played. It is one of my favorite Furthur shows I've been to and shows that this band has experienced a lot of growth over the past two years.
Still nothing posted on the archive - hard to believe - could it all have been just a dream we had long, long ago - just a box of rain!
the show is now posted on archive...just gave a listen again to the scarlet>fire>eyes....WOW...I wasn't dreaming...simply awesome.
