My friends and I did City Beer Store last night (folsom & 8th.) It's about a fifteen minute walk from there to the BGCC. If you're into beer, that's pretty much the place to go.

Very cool. Thanks for posting. I will be going tomorrow night. I am in town now, But decided to just do the NYE Show.
Hope to see lots of happy people tomorrow night. I have an extra ticket for NYE. I picked up two and was supposed to come with my girl but we broke up and nobody was able to make it up.
So i said F it and came up anyway. I have seen a few shows in select cities solo when i would be there on business when the guys would also be in town and always had a great time.
My plan is to see what folks are willing to trade for the extra ticket.

Bertha ?
2 nights in a row?
unusual...
Furthur lives in and travels through worm holes; they are the worlds second only intra-dimensional dance band (behind the Grateful Dead).
So, even though it appears that they do odd things like play Bertha twice in 24 hours, what is actually happening is that you witnessed the band morph back into Dec. 29th for a few minutes.
The Wharf Rat is from one of the Colorado shows they will play next summer.
Fun Fact: The morphing happens when Phil's bombs include diminished 9th notes.
no Bertha 12/29
looks like a fun shoe. i wonder what they're saving for tonight!
Thursday night was played very well, opening jam was great, the noodel jam before trucking was very good. Unbroken chain was wicked jammy.
Last night however, was mondo, out of the gate and all night long. very 79 first set, very 69 second set. They were all on last night.
I agree almost 100% with what Hawilo said.
Insane show last night! The band was on fire! The audience was levitating! Probably the best I've seen.
"no Bertha 12/29"
I wonder if they still think it was played two nights in a row.
This was my favorite Furthur show of all time, sound and lights were incredible! Agree with everything said here, band was really on,and like a waitress at Tommy's Joint said the next day,the fans were all really getting along! From wheelchair ramp in center of balcony,I was right on Phil's mic,and it was surround sound, with Phil's bass coming up through the ramp below me,Eddieboy!
One of the great things about the shows on the 30th is the crowd. So many long-time fans, veterans of many decades who can discuss the band like extremely knowledgable sports fans talk about their favorite team. Already done our share of New Year's Eves, now it's just about kicking back and enjoying the fact our team is still kicking ass on the field. This was a playoff caliber performance!
Second set was a ripper.
My feet are still sore from doin' the crazy boogaloo during Caution.
I talked to a guy in Tommy's Joint on NYE who went the first two nights, and didn't think the second set was as good the first set on the 30th. I don't know if I agree with him on that,I thought second set was killer,Eddieboy! NEW POTATOE CABOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!
yeow.. Tommys Joint!
those were the days!
also..just saw it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives.
quote the flash back
I liked this night a bit better than nye.
Ate at Putah Creek Cafe on the way home to Chico on January 1st. It is in Winters,California, and was also on that show with Guy,but I had been there many times before. Best food anywhere I think, great service, pretty waitresses, made my day and the two hour rest of the way more enjoyable, glad to visit SF,but glad to be home!
Agree with Peter and St. Stephen: this 2nd set was a mind melter, IMHO best since the Haynes/Herring days. The New Potato Caboose
Cryptical > The Other One> Caution > Eleven was in-fucking-sane...Phil was MURDERING the bass ALL NIGHT.
Sadly, I heard from two different sources that (this version of) Furthur was about to come to an end...anybody else heard this>>>>?????
It was a mind melter, just got my SBD in the mail, only listened to first set, have to go for this segment today,Eddieboy!
Furthur already has shows scheduled for East Coast this year, check their website.....
"I liked this night a bit better than nye."
The 30th is commonly better than the 31st. If I was going to attend a single show during a NYE run, I'd put my money down on the 30th every time.
I'm not necessarily saying this is the case for 2011, but the 31st is normally anticlimactic.
Yeah you right..that second set journey thru "Anthem of The Sun" was incredible. Took me right back to the Fillmore West in '68/'69 where I first heard this music and had a cosmic journey with it. Amazing that the music is as relevent and powerful as ever almost 45 years later! Phil was on fire all night and, by the time he tore into "Caution", my face had melted.
The lights were fantastic, the sound impeccable...this truly was as good as it gets. I flew from NOLA for the TTB and this (and Christmas with the family) and woulda walked for a show this good.
Get the soundboard! Awesome mix... Phil's bombs (and there were about 10 in the first two songs!) will rock youir house like it did the building that night.
What a show!
