I would like to go out on a limb here and THANK THE STREAMER who brought us the show last evening - although certainly not a "crispy" stream it was in fact a stream and therefore better than no stream at all. Rock on, boys.
Damning with faint praise indeed.
Layla could be in Broomfield tonight!
Much streamer love the last two nights!
Show dedication, or at least a fat He's Gone for Jon McIntyre. RIP Jon.
PS- If you don't know who he is, find out!
There was a sweet China Cat tease before the second verse of Dark Star last night.
Listening to last night's show (thanks taperrob) and the Loose Lucy is making me think this band will be playing In The Midnight Hour before long. This band is just crazy great, straight out of the gate. Can't wait to hear what they've got on tap for tonight.

thanks for last nights stream.......come onn Phil rock their socks off.......peace ...ENJOY...hi robbie......
Golden Road to open would suit me just fine...
Hi Phil. Hope you have a good show!
...
Broken Arrow perhaps? Or at least a Box?
I predict they will open with Jam and end with OMSN. - Just a hunch.
Also, I have noticed an "On Broadway" tease Thursday during the transition Jam from Wharf Rat into Help On The Way and again Friday night (I think during the lead in to Dark Star). I wonder if it will turn up again tonight?
Last night was outstanding. Hope they can match it tonight. Or better yet, exceed it. :0)
Whose got the stream tonight??? 1 hour to showtime!
Dam Iphone...no flash = no streaming. Very fustrating. I just want to listen to streamed show while dancing around like a fricken loon tonight. Is that to much to ask apple?
In Taper Rob we trust!

"Furthur = slow imitation Velveeta cheese type Vegas act with fake Jerry."
c'mon, man. Is that really necessary? Please be kind. Be respectful to the band and to those who do enjoy them.
Brent - Every one of these guys in Furthur AND Phil and Friends ARE deadheads, that's why we're all here.
Doc Martini - Easy on the hate. I have found BOTH of the bands to have new and exciting moments of freshness at times. I believe that the licks of "Fake Jerry" would draw the approval of the real one if he were still around. I have personally witnessed both enough times with my own eyes and ears to form an opinion.
The fact that Phil and the others care enough to keep this going for all of us is what speaks volumes to me about the character of all of these fine and dedicated musicians. We are blessed to be a part of this. Or I consider myself so. Word.
Glad you like them that's your choice all calling them like I see them is not hate man still stand tall and strong to my opinion
Pretty raucous first set. I'm calling Lovelight and a big Beatles tune (TNK and/or LSD) for the 2nd set.
No one is debating your opinion. It's yours. Have it. It's the unnecessary "need" to voice it in such a disrespectful way that is in question.
2nd set > Layla
grow some balls this is the Phil zone lol lol
exactly. this isn't the Ratdog message board.
sunshine of your love?
please, no Cream. No Beatles. No Dylan. More good Ol' Primal Grateful Dead, please. There has to be a Mason's champing at Warren's bit.
Doc Martini, did you attend any of the New Year's shows or hear any of them? I don't think you did, because if you had, you wouldn't be spouting such crap. While Warren and Jackie are great and I have great respect for their handling of the songs, they are not Deadhaeads. John, yes that's his name and it's very disrespectful to call him anything else, has been a Head for over 30 years and has a great reverence for Jerry. Enjoy the show!
My revised Set 2 prediction:
Sittin on Top of the World
Dancin in the Street

Agree Mike. That Birdsong had some weird in it for sure; great up tempo jam out of the verses>atonal weirdness with just teases of the main theme>more weirdness>China Cat teases>Wheel teases>the main theme and final verse.
I hear a Terrapin coming someplace; they just teased it. No? Probably to end the set? Stella.

Warren's been quoting like crazy all night; Let It Rain licks in GR and CR&S; Age of Aquarius riffs into The 11, which melted into Purple Haze chops; and then there's the melodies from Eleanor Rigby and Tears of a Clown, the likes of which our friend Mr. Haynes just can't seem to shake, and I hope he doesn't anytime soon since he's got access to some much familiar stuff, which he then renders quite exquisitely strange. This is living music; it's got to be to keep me glued to the PC all night.

ridiculous show ya'll...seriously like the best Box I've ever heard....it fits Scofield so well....he's phrasing is sensational...other highlights were the ragging Lala, WOW, and the Rider that show the 1st Center Foundation....the phil Bomb that dropped in the seague from Golden Road>Viola was subatomic....Warren's vocals are just out of this world...and yes Phil's have come a very long way, if you don't know, Phil couldn't sing for a very long time cause he blew out his vocal cords, but I'll take him singing Birdsong, which was weird, but did have it's moments and of course Box or anything else for that matter, any day! The Attics was sublime...and the Stella was pure magic...(Ok I do like John K's Stella better) but Warren is one incredible vocalist too, john K's guitar work in Stella is however in another category..ANYWAY...this band is/was/will always be fantastic...hope they tour in the summer ...it's amazing how each night had it's vibe...Thurs was the best for me, no lines, no wristband BS, 1/2 empty venue with tooons of room to ride rails or spin and dance...FRI was psychedelic as all get with some slightly angry/drunker peeps, but tonight SAT was was just pure raw energy, LOVE and happiness..thank you Phill for an incredible run and keeping the vibe alive...you are amazing, all of them....huge group hug at end...check out my vids on utube...out.
Just a fitting climax to an awesome run of shows...
Phil was just gunning it during St. Stephen; huge fun; the whole run...
Listening to the stream...
Jam out of Stephen somewhat "Millennium"ish...
The Eleven sounding very Furthur like (ft. Jackie "I'm the Bobby of the group" Greene's vocal stylings)
Powerful stuff that brings back memories of tours past...
Seems the true musical alchemy IS PHIL & WARREN...throw in a few ace musical "side"men and a psychedelic ubergroup ye shall have!
(Hoping for some of that collaboration down @ Wanee)
I want to give a huge shout to JOE RUSSO for his powerful and sublime drumming all 3 nights. Joe and Phil are completely tuned into one another, they form the bedrock for bliss.
And also huge kudos to JEFF CHIMENTI, playing behind the wall of guitars, and sharing keys with Jackie, he found interesting and musical soundscapes no matter what song was played or what universe the string players were exploring.
An amazing musical event with 3 very unique guitar players who found common ground inside the timeless music of the Grateful Dead, and other select bands.
And PHIL LESH, musicianship beyond words.
good, at least i didn't miss a broken arrow.....!
The show was fantastic. Warren & Jackie certainly had their moments, but last night belonged to Scofield. That dude completely rocked the roof off the house. First set filled with lots of spacey, groovy jams. 2nd set Stephen opener was bomb. I am amazed on how these 3 guitarist so easily transition off each other and give each other the spotlight. I could hear each one in the mix and watching them trade-off was a gift. Phil holding the line and directing the powerful traffic with Russo's drums. Chimenti on all night. I'd love to see this line-up tour. Leave it to Phil to bring some different magic every time. Colorado loves you Phil!
Thank again, taperrob. The world needs this music to live, much as the music needs the world to be heard. Make circuit with Phil: you're our conduit.
All these band members are deadheads..so is elvis costello, larry campbell, etc. and the dead love their music back. Truly a beautiful run. Thank you colorado!
I don't think words can suffice. You'll just have to listen. I love how these guys drop into controlled chaos, hear something happen and then run with it. Viola was amazing, Russo was playing like it was the end of the show and it was only the second piece. Without dissecting everything, I came away with this. I kept getting the sense that on a grand scale, the music was breathing slowly in and out - deconstructing and reconstructing, from form to formlessness and back. Like a Phoenix. It was so beautiful. I am so glad we were able to be there and share Phil's beautiful musical creativity. It was very special.
Just back from a free round at the DuPont CC on a lovely winter 45-degree-ish late morning and can't wait to plug in for Set II from last evening. Set I was incredible thanks to a crispy stream and the speakers were turned up loud! Nice to share the experience on-line with many including Mr. Beck Lesh himself. Rock on, boys. See you on the green.DuPont is there for the asking thanks to the Dead Head pro. Mr. Dean
I am finally able to compile a review of last night's show as it was so completely mind-blowing and heartfelt, I wasn't able to form an opinion other than "unbelievable". I was a little critical of Friday night's show which left me shaking my head Saturday night. Chimenti was on fire and was having so much fun, it seemed as if he turned into a kid again. Warren nailed Stella Blue with an 11 out of 10 in his fitting silk shirt. Scofield found the space and threw down some jams that u know brought a huge grin to Jerry himself. Jackie was enjoying himself so much and pretty much shined throughout the entire show (even took his hat off for second set). Russo again proved that he's got more energy and drive than a locomotive train. Phil looked stunning in his suit and tore off the roof twisting and soaring through each song. But it was attics that stole my heart, literally made me bend my ear and welled up a tear in my eye. Just when I couldn't have been more grateful, phil broke out the box of rain. This show should be historically noted as one of phil's best along with his 70th bday bash as it humbles and reminds us how precious we all are. Thanking you Phil!!!! Love and light
I love how these guys drop into controlled chaos, >>>
I luv this that wins my choice on on an excellent name for the band contest...LOL
just now listening on Archives, this cumberland is exactly how my life has been going along of late, dicombobulated, with hints of consistency n chaos sprinkled on......and showing me signs of HOPE on my horizon !! Thanks Phil, i so need some great music today and in the next few days....so thank gawd for archives....and for you and the boyzzz !!
~* Inspiration move me brightly *~
I think I heard "Lazy" by Deep Purple in there somewhere, too.
I also noticed the shirt with the wrong spelling of the month Feb and the reversed amperstand also has the wrong print of the lighting bolts on terrapin. The bolts should have 13 pointers and this one has 10 instead. Disappointing...
