If you want really good beer and big crowd, go to Amsterdam Ale House on 76th and Amsterdam. Basic food is passable too. If you want a bit more low key, with good but not great beer selection, go to Dive 75 on Columbus and 75th. Since it's such a nice day, if you have the time, you can go to Shake Shack on Columbus and 77th or 78th, order your food and sit outside by the Museum of Natural History. Or you can go to Big Nick's, at 77th and Broadway, and sit outside too. As for security, thorough patdown going in, and just be aware of your surroundings inside. Only saw peeps getting warnings who got caught lighting up last nite. Thursday in loge was free for all.

Sounds good to me! thanks taperrob .Viola weaved, and braided and through and through in and out of the second set always is fun, St Stephen They did the 11.Best stream of the run last night and the boys seemed like they ate their wheaties.Hope they are in as fine form tonight.Might be goin next week .Tonight will be fun.Very Quiet board last night.Im an old hippie and I tune in and comment about whats going on.One final thing this is not The Grateful Dead. It's Further and it can be worse, as good or better than you let it be.The more energy ,clapping ,,,dancing, singing ,boppin, whistling whatever you give but the more we we give the more we get, I know I've been there. So have some good food and lots of water the rest of the menu Is yours to do what you want and will do.Tryin to help ya just trying to pass on what I've been through;~) have a good time. Be aware.
time.
Thx for the info Sam.
Amsterdam ale house is going to be packed. There are many bars on Amsterdam ave if that place is too crowded. Security wasn't too bad last night.
we always go to that lil corner restaurant just past Beacon, they're food is not fancy, but always fresh...and it's close. we do MULE every New Years, then go to Big Nicks for a slice. i love that grocery store next door, it has everysingle kind of cheese in the world ( prob even Booby cheese ) sorry, had to be done...lol !
taking a nap, was trying to hit neggie in Hartford, but all plans fell thru.....no escort, and beat tired.
see ya's in stream~dream land !!
Booby booby booby, I'm ready Robbie boy plug me in
Hi all, and welcome to Saturday night. It seems a bit quiet in here so far, especially after last night!
Is tonight's show streaming?
> i guess tonight is the viola sandwich
That sounds good to me. I was just looking through the setlists for this tour so far, and it seems like they're sticking very close to the GD catalog, with the exception of a couple of Dylan and Beatles tunes. As for tonight, it looks like there hasn't been a Days Between, Stella Blue, or Mountain Song played on this tour yet, so my money's on one or two of those tonight.
oh yeah! Thanks Rob!

Yep - just started (not show, just Taperrob online) http://www.ustream.tv/channel/taperrob

Viola, Days, Mountain Song, Ain't no Bugs on me, Happy Birthday - I bet I end up happy with whatever they play!
But the viola sandwich does have a nice ring to it...

Is the stream password protected tonight??
Can't wait for the show though, just got a phone call from someone there and from the sounds of it hasn't started. One More Saturday Night as opener tonight or encore guys?
EDIT: Just started.

SET
How's the energy level?
Speaking for myself, Stark, I thought it was right up there. Nice and bouncy, and the set had a nice feel to it.
and the sound quality of the stream is an A+. Thanks again Taperrob!
for the folks that were here last night - how do you think this first set compared?

Back up. Shakedown
furthur needs to learn a few new tunes, the setlist is getting predicable. anyone else think that?
Back in January, I suggested "I Second that Emotion" to JK.
EASY song, but FUN! And it has room for solos by both JK and Jeff. Listen to the JGB 11-14-93.
I agree zeke!!
Days Between. I love this song. Don't always love Bob's take on it, but he sounds good tonight.

Very nice. Thanks again for the share TR, it was pure sweetness.

nice show.......yes......again
25 Minute Terrapin Suite tomorrow
Grateful for the streamline prominade.
Thank you Rob.
Touring from home is a treat.
Can get caught up in the live moment.
Blessings.
the setlist loooks awesome, how were they playin this fine evenin? and which night was better last night or tonight?
Het Now Zeke, i agree, they need to mix it up with some more new stuff. I would love to hear The only time is now , or give up that Lazy Lightning. World to Give would be sweet
Accordng to the Empire State Building's official lighting schedule on their website, Wednesday April 18th, in honor of Phil Lesh, Bob Weir & Furthur, the building will be in Tye Dyed Colours for at least part of that night!
Show was excellent....hands down better than tuesday which had a good 2nd set....sound was awesome .....thank you Furthur...smiles ear to ear
Another amazing show!!!!
Sound was better than Thursday and the energy was off the charts! NFA let the band know we love them and our love will NEVER fade away. The "old" Beacon rocked like 76!!!!!!
Last nights show was rocking right out of the box. They started at 7:40 and kicked it all night! The first set rivaled just about any second set I have seen Furthur do. Then for the second set they started with One More Saturday Night, normally a closer for the second set, and then took it Further from there. This show was the best show I have seen them do to date. It reminded me of 2010 when Bobby would break out the pink pig, I believe he played the Stratocaster all night last night. But unlike 2010 the tempo just ROCKED! Friday blew my mind Saturday melted my face!
Viola Lee "Bluegrass" ending was off the hook!!! Where did that come from????
zeke: new songs??? no repeats in 5 shows...each set structured around a theme...punctuated with gems that surprise and delight....what do you suggest they "learn"???
This run is amazing..resotres all my faith in this band and adding the Qunitet/PnF to the 2012 mix will make this an EPIC YEAR of MUSICAL MAGIC!
BLOWIN MY OWN HORN AND NO BIG DEAL.Called bertha and wheel pre-show.Terrapin on 14th and then they'll pull a rabit fom a hat !!!!!
Wow what a Rick and roll feat last night. There was really nothing not to like. Sat night- viola- eyes-shakedown-NFA- I mean this was classic dead. Puffing is easy in the loge and closer to bathrooms- and sound is good not great. But fine.
Eyes was my highlight. Calling for help slip again tonight and terrapin stephen sugar mags closer. Encore tonight- cosmic Charlie.
80 bucks for your extra! Team up unite do not pay over 100 for orch tickets. Don't give in!
That was number 5 for me and I'm done for this tour. By far, my fave! It didn't hurt that I had killer seats but the energy in that place was a beautiful thing :-)
Eyes is my song and I was able to dance myself right down front and center of things to enjoy it as I wished!!! Security was great... Thursday night was positively brutal with dancing in the aisles (like, NOT) and Friday I ended up in a real sweet spot at the end of the Loge with a TON of dancing room but Sat night my actual seats ROCKED. And the band? They so delivered!!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah... A few repeats from the Wang but really? TWO Shakedowns? TWO BEW? TWO Jack Straws? AND I got my Eyes!!! I don't feel so badly for me, you know???
Sweet, sweet, sweet theater... Sweet, sweet, sweet shows... And beautiful friends. I will so be doing this until THEY decide that they're done. Until then, I remain, ever so grateful...
JUST got home. Still glowing :-)
I FEEL YOUR WORDS ANDREA!!!! ^^^
