thanks for posting the setlist. i was very happy that Phil let Neal sing a lot last night. i particularly enjoyed High Time and Mission in the 1st set, and the 2nd set opener (jam -> China Doll) was stellar. Mark did a great job with Deep Elem, and also gave New Speedway a new and interesting twist with a much slower and mellower feel to it. even Jon Graboff sang a bit, which i haven't seen before. he sang a smokin' version of Mama Tried (others may disagree, but i loved it). Satisfaction and Summertime Blues were also a lot of fun.
performance-wise it was a solid start to the weekend run. sound-wise it was pretty bad in the 1st set, but much better in the 2nd set. audience-wise it was a roller-coaster ride. there were a lot of people near me talking very loudly throughout both sets. my buddy and i tried to get them to shut up but most would not cooperate at all. i'll never understand why people go to a show and then talk over the music.
Thanks for the set list Bobby. I would have to say that the highlights for me were the Mission In The Rain and then the New Speedway Boogie-{I Can't Get No} Satisfaction to Scarlet. Just another great night down at Terrapin Crossroads.
Nice review Jake, I too think Neal has such a great voice and sensitivity to the lyrics. The guy really takes his time and SINGS. Loved it. Band definitely firing on all cylinders in Set 2.
I want to hear that Satisfaction again. I didn't realize that was Neal singing. It has some snarl and soul to it.
Thanks for the info and reviews.

I would love to hear that again as well. That was awesome.
Yeah, the Satisfaction was hot. So was the Summertime Blues encore with each band memember taking a quick solo.

The Summertime Blues was also great. That whole second set was just phenomenal.

Wow really nice show (fantastic recording as well). Very nice New New Speedway Boogie, nice big St.Stephan tease in there too. The more I listen to Neal the more I like him, excellent player with nice timing and phrasing on vocals. I wish Phil would sing a couple tunes per set but that is my only (very small) complaint on this wonderful show. Phil has put together yet another great band. Can't wait to get a taste in person tomorrow night!
Thanks for posting that link Canyon.
