Good day phreaks - writing this from the airport lounge in Chicago on my way home from 2 days of Ryder Cup golf action - DeadHead Golfers Unite - kudos to TaperRob for last night's excellent stream which I blasted in my hotel lobby with the free wifi. My thoughts are with the USA team as we try to bring back the cup and with all my sisters and brothers in Mountain View, CA for tonight's soiree. Enjoy and go USA!

Set 2: Jam> Lady With A Fan> Jam> St Stephen> The Eleven> China Cat Sunflower
Unbroken
And I agree w taperrob's setlist, that jam in st Stephen is the usual st Stephen jam the way Furthur plays it.
Double posted, sorry! Love you all!
And THANK YOU TAPERROB!!!
Ain't technology grand????
cool...i agree not enough to include in official set list but there for sure
Unbroken
youre right Josiah...they do do that now... my only stephen was in vegas couple years ago and they were not doing that sound like eleven jam in the middle...unbroken chain...this set so far explains why i toured for so many years...just fricking awesome!
I Know You Rider?
Rider
Love the extra jam Furthur plays at the end of Unbroken. It's so FURTHUR!!!
Crazy insane sickness! imho second set of the tour so far...and its had some competition...but this one is insane so far
Rider!! Loving this show!
Stella!
I'm loving the setlist but I don't think the intensity matches Saturday night at Red Rocks if we're talking set of the tour. But that's just my $.02, to each his/her own! Sure is a killer 2nd setlist so far!!!!
Stella
WOW
theres the stella! thank you so much rob for the stream!
Stella Blue
I agree, the intensity at the Rocks it something that is hard to beat...
However this was my show of the year... Really wanted to go to Shoreline this year and ended up moving to Colorado last week
Think they'll finish the terrapin? Lovelight? Sugar mags?
living in the moment about this set...i remember the dark star st stepehn unbroken mix and a hot fire to close the show at red rocks...this set has just grabbed me big time
havet heard a lovelight...gonna go out on a limb and say they finish terrapin in the encore
Terrapin
ill go with set closer finsihing terrapin! have never heard that song broken up...wow

They split it at bethel this summer, opened & closed a HUGE second set, but they did lady w a fan--> terrapin station to start that time and then the transit-at a siding-flyer-refrain to close.
Was really hoping for Terrapin after the STEAL YOUR FACE, He's Gone on Sunday at Red Rocks. No complaints though, that whole weekend was EPIC.

Ah Thank You Thank You once again Taperrob for providing a great stream for those of us on 'couch tour' this year!
again thank you so much taper rob for providing the kind stream, appreciate it a bunch
Taperrob does it again! Many thanks for the crisp stream from the East Coast!
Would be interested to know the specs behind taperrob's magic!
Thank you from my bed in Maine! Serious props Rob, sounded awesome!!!
Good night, good night, goooooood niiiiight!
Looks like a great show- a few songs i"d been wishing for (stella blue, china doll) I'm sure being back in the bay area was good enough inspiration!
Phillip Chapman Lesh absolutely owned that 2nd set last night!!!!! He was large and in charge, struttin' his stuff for the Bay Area. Phil phans got some really, really good stuff last night. Thank you Phil!!!!!!! This was my only show of the tour and I am a very happy man.
Weird beginning and very strange cadence for Ship of Fools that replaced it's syncopations with unfamiliar ones. When they got to Cucamonga things got back on the tracks. West LA was "Bob-ified." China Doll was moving and the Cosmic was psychedelic but (IMHO) lacked the ooomph needed to end the set.
The 2nd set was all gravy and a great sandwich - but the end of Sugar Mags was a bungled mess that was saved with a blues ending via Chimenti. Weir (bizarrely) began Samson & Delilah by singing the 1st verse acapella and banging on a tambourine... a truly weird moment.
Still - all in all a fun night - but proximity to the band makes for a much more rewarding experience and Shoreline sucks compared with TXR (duh). I was in 202 dead center and the fucking venue smells and is leaking. There were soggy towels all over the concrete floor soaking up moisture and the place smelled fecal and pukey. Tear this old building down - indeed!
I'll take a bad day at TXR or Sweetwater any time over that boondoggle of a dump in Mt. View. Life's too short for $12 beers, stupid traffic, horrible parking and exit conditions and overzealous security conditions.
Have a grateful day.
show was decent. first set was a snoozefest but some nice song selections in there.
2nd set much better but quite a few kinks in the segues. they were visibly tired from portland.
thanks to a zoner i scored a fantastic seat in 103 Row I on re-release and had an absolute blast
Bobby started the Sunday RR "Samson" the same way (acapella & tamborine).
Hey TaperRob
Thank you for the joy you bring!
My head was at Shoreline, my butt in nyc
I readily admit to being a terrible critic of this music. I love it too much to critique it too harshly. Any show I get to see live is a great show. I've felt that way for a long time, and admit that I can froth over average shows. (In my defense, average shows for this band are pretty freakin' good...)
That being said - I thought the second set last night was as good as any set of music I have seen this band play. Fearless adventure. Maybe not precise in every moment, but sincere and rocking. I know people complain about the miscues and faltering moments, and I know people like to rag on Bobby for his contributions. I don't get it. There is a beautiful intensity to what this band is doing - and in the moments we just dance through any mis-steps while staying more or less in line (and on beat.)
The first set did not jump out at me. It was fun, and the song selection was good, but it was just a solid first set. There were several cool moments in each of the songs - just little riffs or twists of jam that made the songs interesting. Fun enough, but not a standout set.
The second set was pure goodness from opening to close. I know there were some miscues and I heard a few folks rag about the harsh moments, but that set sizzled. I was very happy to have been there, and now I'm really looking forward to the LA and Santa Barbara shows. This band is all about serious fun. I like that.
Good shows / bad shows . . . . It's like sex: when it's good, it's great; and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. ;-)
Gary/Freestyle: i'm right there with ya brother. the 2nd set was phenomenal!!!!! All Phil, all the time!!! Sub-sonic and atomic. (insert Phil BOMB here) ;-)
That there be two heavy duty set lists!!! Second set is a monster on paper. Wish I was there!!
It was, IMHO, cool that they opened with "Born Cross-Eyed"! I was at the Alpine Reunion shows where they "Brought it back"! I didn't recognise it for a while; another head told me what it was.
It's a Really WEIRd song; it starts on the downbeat, and kinda "tricks" your ears. A homage to Bob's dyslexia!
i've been callling for the born cross eyed show opener since 2nd night redrocks...
finally!
(I loved when they opened that MSG show with it in 2010)
This was a special show for me. We sold food in the lot to buy the tickets for the lawn and it was magical. To each his own but I loved the first set. Phil singing lead on 3 songs made me grin from ear to ear. The second set was crazy good and that is where the magic happened. Quick back story, almost 20 years ago I stood on the lawn at Shoreline alone listening to Jerry sing the most beautiful version of Stella Blue I had ever heard live. I remember wishing I had someone special to share that moment with. Fast forward to Sunday and my wife of 12 years and I pick the same exact spot I had watched from 20 years ago and sure enough, they play the most beautiful Stella. We danced and it was wonderful.
Very nice Phil20! It needs to be shared!! It all rolls in to one......
Had a great time at the show Sunday at Shoreline, thanks Furthur,Eddieboy!
Wonderful story Phil20! It was a great Stella, along with Built to Last, Ship of Fools, China Doll, and Terrapin.
I was at the show and loved it.
The first set was a bit odd, though quite enjoyable. The SECOND set, however, was one of the best sets of music I've ever heard this band play. It was not perfect, to be sure, but it was raw, psychedelic, and crackling with energy. Granted, I ate some glowing purple liquid that made me feel really funny...nevertheless...the band was absolutely ON in my opinion. John sang very well and was fearless on guitar, taking soaring leads without hesitation. His growth and increase in confidence cannot be overstated in terms of its positive impact on the music. The band was agressive and melodic and at times weird and scary, but always fearless. Just like I like them.
Bottom line: I am so, so thankful to still have the opportunity to sit on a hill under a full moon in San Francisco and have my head split apart by Mr Robert Weir and Mr Philip Lesh. Life is about moments, and I will never forget the moments I experienced at Shoreline Sunday night.
Favorite pre-show lot moment: Crusty dreaded wookie type bent over with his pants down and his ass cheeks spread apart, shouting "Show me your butthole! Prove you're a human!"
Crackling with energy, very true! They were so tight, you could tell they had a few shows under their belt! Phil was really thumping Shoreline. It was my first Furthur show there.
