I've got to say that I have always loved the name of this venue - it reeks of counter-culture and embellishes the place with a sense of hippiedom - however having been there I can tell you it's kind of uncool and if you try to light one up you will have security in your face right away. The place is a casino-hotel and that means security everywhere, so keep a tight grip on your boots!
Late start time tonight for East Coast phans (11:00 PM).
Will there be a streamer in the house?
I don't know what it's like now, but when Phil played The Joint for Vegoose (2005?), security was a non-factor. We rolled and smoked joints right under camera domes all night with no problem (or shall I say, morning, as the show started at midnight and the third set finished at 5:15 am -- no shit!).
I saw CSN last April at the "New" Joint. It's a lot bigger than the old one and plenty of room on the floor. Security was there, but not a bother. Enjoy everyone!
Think we'll get a Taperrob stream tonight??? Did you hear what I just heard?
In the same vein as steal your face an appropriate set list for today's feast of Saint Francis of Assisi might include the following songs.
Alligator
Bird Song for Janis who passed on this date in 1970
Blackbird
China Cat
Direwolf
King Bee
Little Red Rooster
Monkey and Engineer
Walking the Dog
Warf Rat
Wild Horses
Gentle Jack Jones, what did you hear?
I suppose that was a Music Never Stopped reference from Gentle Jack Jones above.
wishful thinking is all...
I figured, but thought there might be rumors circulating about something that I hadn't caught on to. Any word on a stream?
No TR stream tonight. He's back east. No stream from me either. Crowd I'm with tonight is not conducive to keeping it together (or quiet) for long periods of time. I'll be solo again (and back online) for LA and SB.
hey otherrob...thanks for the heads up on your streaming in LA and SB...enjoy the show tonight..
Heya Rob Rizzo!
Thanks for the heads up!
I'll trade my first born if you change your mind and decide to stream tonite :-)

Dew encore. Show fucking rocked. So glad I got to see it.
holy shit kids, this show was a MONSTER! So incredible, blew San Diego away, on a different planet tonight, mostly because of the sound in the Joint, you can dial that place in, ok and the crowd, which was AMPED! Highlights for me were the Mingelwood, Feelin Alright, After Midnight, and enormous DEW that I called, ha. John did some incredible guitar work in Watchtower, some echo delay stuff and Phil just pounded right through it, Russo as usual was fucking incredible all night...these boys were dialed IN. Bobby was great, lyric flubs and all, actually i think he peaked during Hell in a Bucket, he really rocked it out, Phil was glaring him down a couple times, Jeff reserved and let JK shone tonight , which he did, wow did he play some amazing lead, his tone is He's Gone was rich and creamy, need to have a re-listen. Tremendous tonight is all i can say, gonna have a beer a spliff and download the video I took. The lights were wonderful and the security lax though actully a little more agressive than I remember, (VEgoos 05 was how long ago) Only complaint is getting in and out of that place, anyway, rockin show, see you in Santa Barbara, I'm skippin LA, but they will have a full steam train heading their way.
>>>>> He's Gone was rich and creamy
never heard that from a guy before.
The tone dude the tone . Ur a dork? Thx for reading my review.
Aural Fluff!
Hola! Thanks for heads-up on The Joint - I was at the original venue early on - certain that it was a rockin' and rolling good time! - and mucho gusto for the stream link which is now filling the breakfast room with rich and creamy aural fluff!!
Wow..the Joint was indeed jumpin! Nice listen through the morning after. Loved the feelin alright -jack straw- he's gone
...actually the whole first set is smokin...enjoying the replay.
Looking forward to a grate weekend in the slipstream ...
Wow! Las Vegas got the jackpot. Heard the stream, loved the show, and am amped to be headed for LA & SB. Apparently, from what I read last night, the "OtherRob" plans on streaming the next three nights. Have fun everybody!
Russo was pounding th drums during minglewood blues and that was pretty killer... Seemed like a bobby night which was great! Throwing and NFA was a treat for me! You should milk chementi more, his keys blow JK's rifts out of the water! Sorry JK he would have to be an excellent board player to do that. Pretty chill no real major change ups, except Vegas girls no what to do. Spilled my beer and that was a bummer. I was thinking the place is small and it would of been nice if it was bleeping louder. There should be sign: loud music in here, wear ear plugs for your protection! Huh? Phil I couldn't hear the stinking bombs during jack straw? WTHey I. Well psyched for tonight, first timer here!!!
agreed, it could have been louder where I was too.
Excellent show though. cant wait to get home and dl the sbd.
i love that they played feelin alright again. I think the last time it was played JohnK sang the whole song, instead of shared verses between bob and phil. Any word on this one?
I am loving that they are still rotating some of this stuff and I'm hoping for We Love You or Blues for Allah at some point.
maybe another Octopuss'Garden or Rosemary? Or Might as Well, Jack a Roe, Big RR Blues, wait a minute let me get ahold of myself...
thanks!!
