Good morning phriends! So welcome to the last show of the tour. There has as always been a great sense of community during this run of shows; 'the chat' has been a great place to hang-out even (as has been the case many nights) without a show stream. The music has been a bit different this time around but remains true to the core values we know and love. To all the sisters and brothers out there in cyber-space - it's been great phun and I'll see you 'on the bus'.
Tonight's venue is a beautiful outdoor theatre overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. We saw Santana there several years ago. It should be a rollicking good time! Have a great time if you are going to the show and send us a stream!
I concur with Adamdean, there's been a really nice sense of community this run without any of the negativity and bickering that has polluted the board at times in the past. I caught the first three shows of the run at Red Rocks. Two with a bunch of my old school college buddies who I used to see shows with in the past who flew out for them, then the Sunday show with my daughter for her first Furthur show and first show at RR. Great times and company for all three! I just wish I could be there for the rest of the run. Have a spectacular time tonight for those of you going!!
Back in my home away from home, the city where I first saw the Grateful Dead way back in 1974! Have been awaiting tonight's show patiently from the couch - now here I am just a few hours away. Excitement grows with every breath. Great music, old and new friends await. Another chapter of the long strange trip begins...woohoo!!
.... don't know if I have ever expressed how grateful I am to all the deadicated heads that post and, hence, keep us posted on this site. I have enjoyed following along in real time here, from as far away as India on New Years eve, and most other shows I am not able to make, ( which is most ) ....Thanks...... for leavin' it on !!!
With the MLB Playoffs at hand, I decided to post one of my "mock set lists" that I hope all you baseball heads will enjoy.

I LOVE this band!
Steal Your Base.
Steal Your Base is very clever- I forgot to include: It Must Have Been Pete Rose's
You guys are too funny. I do love baseball and I think your creative setlists are a thing of beauty. Two great games today and looking forward to the O's & Yanks tonight as well as a stream from Santa Barbara cause while beisball be good to me, GD & Further & Phil be belly good to me.
Fingers crossed that the Verizon guy showed up here to make sure we can indeed hear you now.
Bill E. DeLions - That is most creative and gifted! Being a Little League Dad (I played in the 60's and coached in the 90's) and having grown up a dyed in red&white Phillies Phan (anyone remember Connie Mack Stadium?) I can relate!
Kymmie74 - You have me by 3 months as I got 'on the bus' August 4th 1974 at the (now gone) Philly Civic Center. Enjoy tonite's show!
Yea, and I hope its not that "can you hear me now?" prick.

Life is good. Kids sound asleep, beer in hand, yankees on the tube, the stream is coming in, and I'm in no hurry to get to work in the morning.
Thanks, Rob!!
Connie Mack Stadium....ohhhhhhhhhhh my youth... Clay Dalrymple, Johnny Callison, Cookie Rojas, Richie Allen, Tony Taylor, Tony Gonzalez, George Myatt coaching third...."hey mister watch your car for a dollar?". That kiddies was the last great era of baseball, before $$$ took over the game. Players actually had off season jobs out of necessity and played better ball than you see today. And boy, did we have the WORST PITCHING EVER!!! (pre Carlton).
Pre Dead days for me...but just as much a treat to go to the ballpark with my old Man (thanks Pop)as to go see all those Spectrum shows a little later down the road.
And while I'm at it...thanks for the streams folks, been a pleasant couple weeks on the couch.

Jonathan Wilson does a nice job. I was at the Greek on friday night, and while Lukas Nelson wasn't bad, it killed the vibe for me. JK can sing Althea a million times better, IMO. In the 2nd set, when Lukas came out to sing "Gloria", I was none too pleased, cause the show needed a gem in that slot- saturday Greek show was a monster by comparison.
Do we know if there is a stream out there?
What a great run
there is see above for the link. He's down for set break but seemingly will be back up soon.
ah thanks... missed that... Looks like a good first set. Not a big fan of the SB Bowl tho, nice venue crappy staff.
Last set of the tour....start aggressive with a dark star or is it a greatest story type end....till new years friends...

I hope Phil doesn't stop singing Eyes. He beams with light and happiness when he is at the mic.
hey flower...my wifes (who's name happens to be jerri) favorite sing is also if i had the world to give...wouldnt that be something to hear that!
And I agree with Bill E, but I never understood the novelty of guests. By their very nature, they interrupt the conversation. I prefer to see the band in full force and not politely paying respect to their guests. I understand why musicians do it, but as someone in the audience, I'm just not interested.

Great stream quality tonight. Many thanks otherrob. Fun show and fun tour. Caught one live and couch surfed most of the rest. Be safe until next time.
Thank You Boys and TheOtherRob for bringing us this show tonight!
Nice musical run indeed! Wish they were coming back to the midwest in November like last year..oh well....until we meet again - blessings to all. And I Bid You Goodnight.
Thank you Jerrimike for your well-done set list effortz! A couple of tweaks: it's spelled SOLOMON'S... And typically Sunshine Daydream is only included as song when it's detached/separated from Sugar Mags.
PS The whole jam before Death Don't... was stunning!
thanks otherob...sounded awesome...2nd set epitomizes why i was always a hot sweaty mess after a show...2nd set smoked beyond words!
lol...thanks for the spell check ...like to list it all for everyone...awesome night! night everyone

Thanks OtherRob!
Thanks to the band for yet another great evening - awesome sets, fine jams, very spirited show. So glad I made it!!
Thank you ALL! Such a nice way to hear a great tour without being there~
Thank you streamers and setlists providers, and everyone else that have awesome reviews or quips about the show.. . thank you.
Wish I could be there in person, but this place is the next best thing, that is obvious.
and with that!
safe travels~
good to see the return of dark hallow and what hopes to be the bust out of big boss man!
I don't mind the guests cause I don't agree that Furthur is coming to an end any time in the near future.
that kind of stuff would be announced by the band, it seems.
and with everything dialed in at txr, and tri, next year promises to be filled with more furthur shows than this year(and not just in the bay area)
bring on december tour, nye run and 2013!
Long live Furthur.
blessings and all glories - see you 'on the bus' next time out
I hope Furthur doesn't end anytime soon nor did I mean to imply there was any pending end. We have been blessed with...what?...six different decades now?...of the imo greatest music there has ever been shared with the greatest friends I have ever had. I treasure every moment we have with these guys and I guess I would rather hear them at this point in time then guests. That's no disrespect to the guests. Just me loving this group is all.
Who are these Nelsons?
Caught the last three shows of the tour. All were great, and the Santa Barbara show was really special. What a venue. And the audience was terrific. After two nights in LA trying to hear the music through myriad conversations, it was a pleasure to be with people just grooving on the music. The first set was very mellow and set the stage for a monster second set. Every note was perfect. Thanks guys for yet another wonderful time! Can't wait for P&F on the east coast.
Great way to end the tour. SB was really great. The LA Greek shows both were tremendous. The Saturday night first set was a little tepid with song choice and renditions, but it didn't prevent me from dancing. I was fortunate enough to be seated around folks both nights who were respectful and not talking to each other over the music. I've read a lot about that, but haven't encountered it. I would suggest to any having this issue that they try mail order. Seems you're seated mainly with the die hards when you do and it hasn't failed me yet. Hopefully, this band will continue well into the end of the decade because they continually surprise!
Looks like a keeper! Pockey Way!!
