“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” - Coco Chanel
How right you are, Merri dear! Here is the thread for the 1st show of the Colorado run, have fun with it!
I'll be listening in from 'the road'!
Any of you Zoners gonna be at this show?
Shoot me an email if any of you are going to be at this show and want to combine forces to hold a spot in line to get prime spots inside. My wife and I can get out of work and get down there at about 3:00 or slightly thereafter. My email is bjdana@comcast.net. Can't wait!!!!!
Ben
Desperately in need of a ticket! If you have an extra or know of one please help me out! I live down the street from the Ogden and just can't miss this one!
Email me at tvertalert@gmail.com
Anybody hanging out pre/post shows for the run? I'm gettin on the plane right now but unfortunately dont't have a ticket for my sisters bday Ogden show. One short. My sis and bro n law have ogdens so i might be hanging at the local pub. Let me know if you have a fun denver spot.
Have fun
Tom, I live north of Denver in Boulder and from what I know of the section of Colfax where the Ogden is located it isn't the best part of town and there aren't a ton of great pubs. That being said, my wife was recently down there for a work function at a place called the Cheeky Monk that is about a third of a mile west of the theater on the southeast corner of Colfax and Pearl. It specializes in upscale beer and she said that the menu is pretty good and somewhat reasonably priced for Denver (you'll spend $10-20 on a burger or main entree). Other than that I have nothing, I never hang out in Denver let alone that part of town. I hope that helps...Ben
Wish I could be there! I'll be staying home hoping for a stream! Have fun and play safe boys and girls!
Thanks for the info Ben. Made it into town last night, cab ride from airport was crazy long because of the snow. Cheesy Monk's might be in my future
Anyone know if there will be a stream?
Post pics from your iPhone, please. Wanna imagine I am there.
I made it to Denver, don't have a ticket but every time I have tried to post a picture from my phone while at a show to this site it never pastes. do some people have image posting privileges and others do not?
If I find a ticket I will definitely "try" and post a pic or two
Is Taper Rob in the house tonight?
taper rob gona be around tonite? i know he is doin broomfield, heard it thru the grapevine
there were great streams for red rocks last fall so feeling good about tonight
Hey Tom, you might need an iOS update to post from your iPhone. This capability recently became available. You need to resize the pic to smaller than 500 x 500 pixels too (I use simple resize, super simple)

I'll try at the venue. Think I have a line on a ticket!
Have Done Coloartist in years past. He is very regional to the Colorado area (see name) but generally has splendid audio quality.
Anybody streaming Ogden?
Trying to guess the opener and nothing is striking me as right. Will go w/ Cold Rain & Snow given midwest weather today. Hope Bobby got in from Cali in time.
Sounds like he's on the air....

Welcome, phriends. I hereby annoint someone - anyone - to remember to start the thread for the shows during this weekend's run in Denver - amen.
And as always, bless the tapers and streamers for freeing the music.
How bout a feel like a stranger or shakedown opener...
I got a ticket for the "bargain" price of 250 bucks. Place is super packed, people hanging off the rafters
How much were they going for? What was the most you saw paid?
Heard $400+ but not there so can't confirm. Makes sense though Ogden is tiny and a great venue to watch shows.
Stranger

"Stick Around"
The set started out pretty well. JK was all over Stranger and Cold Rain. Things slowed down a bit and didn't take off again until the jam in Doin' That Rag. It was mellow, but well played. Looking forward to the second set.
I really liked the openers, and loved how Cold Rain rolled into He's Gone, but was not too sure about the Baby Blue. The Rag sounded sweet. Cosmic is getting a bit old to my ears, but a nice set all in all.The band sounds good, and I'm looking forward to the second set. TaperRob rocks.
the band is REALLY listening to each other. Stranger was sweet, JK wailing at the end, Jeff synth a bit but did not hear mush from his again till It's all over now, look for him to take some leads in 2nd set scarlet>fire...I don't mind Cosmic Charlie one bit, whoever said its old can go on home your mamma's calling you and the seagues and transition to songs was beautiful, some of the best Furthur has ever tried awesome stop dropping into CRS and Its all over now, wish i was there grabbing some turns and chilly with my peeps in CO..lucky cats at the show;)
Purddy crisp so far highlights for me Cold Rain and Doin That Rag. Lookin for the boys to take it up a notch the second set

Wahoooooooo!!!!!!!
Does anyone actually write reviews anymore? A show that people were shitting bricks to get into and no reports?
My two cents...
First set felt a little slower than usual (one migh call it Ratdog-esque). Doin' That Rag was my first-set highlight and the Cosmic Charlie was fun. The second set ripped, particularly from Estimated through The Eleven. Estimated included a very distinct Cosmic Charlie tease during the jam.
Totally agree. Liked some of the places he's gone went as well, but Rag was clicking well.
Strong set II. Wanted a heavier viola intro bomb but loved the places the jams went. Personally I really liked the way estimated slowed to a stop and then ground up again. Also one of the finest Box's I've seen played music wise. Phil sung it strong as usual but musically it was fiiiiine.
Place was packed wall to wall...smiles everywhere. I got a love supreme tease in crazy fingers, which I called as my rarity hope. Now I have king Solomon's and lazy supplication to go and I will scratch off the to do list.
>Now I have king Solomon's and lazy supplication to go and I will scratch off the to do list.
Those would be sweet. Good luck!
Just tuning in. Anyone have tonight's setlist so far?
TaperRob...u are the best!!! Thank you..
First set highlights were doin the rag & cosmic chuck which was really fantastic -- also Baby Blue in the middle I thought was really sweet. Set 2 was rockin and spacey -- viola went on for I would guess a half hour or more, in and out of jams, spaciness, etc., stephen>eleven is always a favorite of mine, playin' reprise exploded at the end. Box of rain was unlike any other version I've heard -- really up tempo, actually rockin' rather than drifting -- really dug that Box of Rain. Packed joint but that's ok -- the heads always figure a way to make it work and it did.
