"Stagger Lee", also known as "Stagolee","Stackolee", and other variants, is a popular American folk song about the murder of Billy Lyons by "Stag" Lee Shelton in St. Louis, Missouri at Christmas, 1895. The song was first published in 1911, and was first recorded in 1923 by Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians. A version by Lloyd Price reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959.

From dead net...what bob just sang...
The following verse was apparently written by John Barlow for use in the song, but not in the event used by Bob Weir:
And while you were saying your mantra
I was humping your very best friend
And comparing myself to Sinatra
'Cause I did it my way in her end

yee and hah my friends. I have an extra for Atlantic City. On the floor, section 6, Row 20....looks to be back on the right of board about 2/3 way back. I paid $75.00 for the ticket, which is what I am asking for it. They have been sounding real good last couple of nights, I think it will be worth the trip. I will respond to first email address posted. I am in Philly, or we can hook up in AC before the show. Happy Spring.
Actually, I took the name from The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers series of comics from back in the day. I always liked his motto...

These Ads totally suck
This set is about as strong as anything I've heard Furthur play. My fantasy is a Black Muddy encore (I'm an old softy douche bag I know, but then again I'd dig a Liberty too) Of course a GDTRFB would work about now
holy pachouli!!!
I agree. Phil is on fire....As Phil goes...so does Furthur....very, very strong indeed.....
yea i got the urge to shoot those chameleon paint sales-lizards, this shit is rockin tho thanks TR.
I was thinking black muddy river too...liberty and gdtrfb already played....so I think your choice fits
What time is the curfew tonight?
phil owned this second set...and you can tell that makes all the others play their best...
Dark Star Dew was heavy duty!
Holy Bat shit lizard Lick!
We want Phil.....We want Phil..... How about a very unconventional "Broken Arrow" encore?
Did the dj from sirius just give away the encore...NFA?

was probably on written set list but ran out of time
hate to be a bummer...but was certainly hoping for a better encore
Or a very conventional rockin and rollin jbgoode
Thank You Keith!!!!!!
Johhny b Goode but Taper Rob be GREAT!!!!
Well well...
heard that too joe and was wondering
Kin of bummer encore...must be the curfew
"Johnny B. Goode" is a 1958 rock and roll song written and originally performed by Chuck Berry
Yeah that's what i thought also he said earlier he knew the set list...set break was long probably due to the amp problem someone mentioned.
"Morning Dew", also known as "(Walk Me Out in the) Morning Dew", is a post-apocalyptic folk-rock song written by Canadian folk singer Bonnie Dobson and made famous by the Grateful Dead
Still a very very very fine show indeed!!!! Thank you to all and to all a good night!!!!!!
Thanks for the welcome John (You from Lizard Lick? , I live 20 miles from there). Johnny B Goode is their usual encore when they run up against curfew.
I love Johnny Be Good- and they rocked it. Great show!
The Siruis guy wasn't too smart. He said he was a DH but even if he isn't, he should have known that he didn't hear NFA.
Sweeeeeeeeet Show.
anyone listening to regaee burning spear band doing estimated prophet on gd channel in siruius?...pretty cool
that was an excellent show...pumps me up for tomorrow!...Sampson...terrapin...china rider...so many left!
Lou, Sorry to have to tell you this but the Sirius DJ, Gary Lambert, is quite smart, and has been a Dead Head for 45 years. In fact, along with Davi Gans he hosts a talk show about the Dead every Sunday on Sirius. I think Gary knows a NFA when he hears one. Probably just having a good time. The man works hard for us. Give him a break.
Don't be sorry, I believe you.
However I have to ask if you were listening?
He was listening to the show along with us; recited the set when it was over, gave comments about some the songs, and included NFA.
Since I didn't hear him cracking any other jokes, I kind of doubt he was joking then.
Yes...indeed Wow....all u lucky heads !!....sweet....................................... .................................
RE-RELEASE for tomorrow right now.
I'm a 2nd set type folk, but that is a really nice looking 1st set on paper (not including OMSN, because I've never cared for the cheesy predictability, though I'm fine with the song). I'd be a really happy camper if I got that list. Looking forward to hearing it for myself.
Yes, I heard him say that. And then I laughed. Like I said, Gary was probably just having a good time at the show.
Wow! This sounds like big fun! Can't wait to hear this one.
"What shall we say, shall we call it by a name,
As well to count the angels dancing on a pin.
Water bright as the sky from which it came,
And the name is on the earth that takes it in.
We will not speak but stand inside the rain,
And listen to the thunder shouting I am! I am! I am! I am!"
Sounds like all you phreaks had a great time listening to good ol' Grateful Dead music brought FURTHUR. Indeed, what a long strange trip it has been. A phriend pointed out to me that Brother Phil is fast approaching 50 years in the band!
Wonderful show, of course. About that NFA. When the band finished Dark Star, they were moving into Throwin Stones Dew and Phil made some very emphatic gestures which led to a quick conference with Bobby and JK. It was clear that Phil was saying that they had to cut a song because of the time. They were already a few notes into Throwin Stones, so it seemed obvious that they decided to end with that instead of what had been planned. And what completes Throwin Stones? NFA, of course. We were all surprised that NFA wasn't the encore, but they were probably just saving it for tonight. Can't wait.
In 2011 the cut one of the Greek shows in LA short which was suppose to be NFA>GDTRFB as the closer and instead ended with NFA and a 2 minute 30 second Johnny B Goode due to curfew. Painful to see that repeated on this set. It would have rounded things out nicely. JBG has always been a disappointing way to end a solid show in my book.
JBG is the boys' encore of choice to beat curfew AND to acknowledge that they just smoked it! Usually the JBG encore means that the show ripped! - I would gladly trade a 4min encore for 2:45 of bliss beforehand
Hard to believe Phil has been in the band 50 years... I was at his 50th bday show in Landover in '90 and it is crazy that I am now older than Bobby was at that show...
Phenomenal Dew last night.
Black throated got the biggest cheer and Bobby put a big smile on Phil's face. It's been a great couple of nights. Next stop for me is AC. Love that Boardwalk Hall.
The Sirius / XM live broadcast was right on the money. Compared to those bunky streams it was like night and day. And Bob did riff out NFA before pausing and then going into Throwing Stones. Gary did a good job throughout and that interview with Peter Shapiro was good as well.
50 years in any band is a milestone and even at 73 Phil shows no sign of stopping.
What did Bobby say about the government in Throwing Stones? Whatever it was it was passionate.
yeah, bob def. had some new stuff to say....did anyone catch it?
you can buy,... a whole damn government these days!!! atleast thats what hes been sayin as of late to my ears. peace.
