This show was great. Every song was played with fresh ideas added. To my ears, every song was one I hadn't heard before being that there were so many new twists and turns added. Tons of unusual rhythmic and tempo changes throughout. Add Luther's slide work, lead rhythmic strumming, and great melodic leads to the core four talent of Phil, Joe, Jeff, and John; then just watch out. John seems to really up his game when on stage with another great lead player. I've not seen him play at this level before. He certainly has hinted at it all along with Furthur, but the last 3 nights he has been nothing short of outstanding. Luther and Jeff were locked in and playing off each other at the highest level all last night. Actually everybody was!!!! It was a show worthy of the Grateful Dead legacy in my opinion.

just got back. you know the show was....ai'ight. im not gonna rave about it as the dirty/blues/funk thing isnt really my flavor but Luther seems to be very nimble and versatile musically...can turn his "thing" off and on at will to melt into the musical tapestry of the band as a whole or rise to the lead and get his 'Mississippi All-Stars" on. both last night and tonight had some pretty novel and unique guitar chemistry between JK and Luther. Phil as always, God-fucking-bless him, is the whole gravitational epicenter and he just masterfully layeth it down! alot of deep sonic bass waves this run which is...after all..why i still go.the anders show was by fr the most traditonally "psychedelic" of this Ramble run.
however, the crowd bothered me more tonight then ever. hey ya'll, lets all just pay a little more attention to how we move through space! try to be mindful of what or who was in the place your standing before you walked up. be mindful if you can of whats around you so your not grinding your purse into the poor guy standing behind you or having loud conversations a foot from someone quietly immersed in their own inner reverie. this mindfulness is the same thing that can help us all co-create and share a more peaceful and harmonious existence on earth.
oh ya and hey...is that persons table really your cup holder? maybe they got in line at 4 pm so they could sit there tonight. just because its the nearest flat surface, at least have the common courtesy to kindly ask "mind if i put my drink down here?"

...to add to the mindfulness. Whoever you are that was standing behind me on thursday kicking me in the ankles even after I politely asked you to stop. I'll say it again here nicely, please stop. But thats all you get, if you even breath on my ankles tonight, it's going to get ugly for you pal.
